Big fan of Pie Minister - any idea if they're still around? Not been to Glasto since 2013. A weekend without the Heidi Pie will be a sad one!

they still exist, with shops all round the country now ... and that corporate-ness appears to be why Glasto declined to have them there last year.

Which is kinda weird given Square Pie do also and are still there in multiple locations.

I vaguely remember Innocent having a stand way back in the early 2000s

Pieminister ended up in some soulless slot by the EE Chill and Charge in 2014. Last year they weren't there. I must admit I didn't miss them (although I did go to Square Pie twice to make up for it....)

They catered my step-daughter's wedding last year and were absolutely fantastic. They were surprised and disappointed not to have been at Glastonbury but said they would be reapplying this year.

And yet they've been OK with Tesco being on site?!

I'm only guessing, but perhaps the differences as far as Glastonbury is concerned might be via how they've each funded an expansion &/or something to do with how each company is owned (privately vs publicly traded shares, perhaps).

Whatever, Pieminister are now firmly established, and it opens up an opportunity for someone else to establish themselves - and I don't think that's a bad thing. :)

Are they?

I'm not so sure of my information now after thinking to check. I'd never seen it but had been told on at least two separate occasions that there was a pop-up somewhere on site but can find no reference to it. Possibly a completely unsubstantiated rumour!

Have they? When/where?

I know they've sometimes allowed other big companies on with a low-profile - but even then not wanted some of those back - but that's not spilled over into the food trading as far as I'm aware.

See above - I'm guessing it's duff info.

It's not something I've ever heard about, and I've had several in-depth convos over a few pints about corporates on site with the guy who (until about 5 years ago) used to be responsible for all the corporate deals as well as running everything about the markets.

He told about who they'd had on site and why, and why in some cases they weren't wanted back - nothing confidential or damning, but (essentially) how the festival has to navigate between ideal-world and pragmatism and revenue generating in how they approach these things.

I wouldn't mind so much if they were established enough that they had a shop/restaurant nearby I could get one from. But there are huge chunks of the country where our only chance to get one was at the festival once a year - even in London there are a fair few cafes and they do Borough market, but nowhere open after 5pm.

Buddha Bowl van

Hope these guys are back

Oh boy, had myself a kale/brown rice/vegan stew type thing from here Saturday night 2011 just before watching Deacon Blue on the Acoustic Stage. After several days of stodgy burgers, burritos and paninis, this was like sweet manna from heaven. I felt suitably renewed.

They stock them in a few of the larger supermarkets. Waitrose usually have them.

Brothers are probably one of the biggest brands on site now (with their own stall, rather than being bought in for the bars).

I'm pretty sure there would be uproar if Glastonbury denied the Brothers Bar their usual pitch in West Holts. They are a festival stalwart!

Are you thinking of Co-Op maybe?

I've never seen or heard of any kind of on-site Tesco presence, but in 2004 the Co-Op (not sure which flavour) did have a mini store as part of the Left Field tent.
