Ive just had a text from O2 offering priority booking for EW and F at Glasgow on 30th June. You know the drill guys!!

Mr Ashford thank you so much. My life would be complete to finally see a group I have loved for 40 years since I was 8! Are there any other dates yet please ?

Kool & The Gang 2011

Chic  2013

The Family Stone/Parliament/Funkadelic 2015

The atmosphere at West Holts for all 3 of those headliners was incredible and I imagine completing the set with Earth Wind and Fire this year would be no different.

I know there's lot of love for Earth Wind and Fire on this forum so I was kind of stoked when I saw that text. I saw them once supporting Santana back in the early 70s. Very flamboyant act back then and I bet they are the same now. I use all sorts of local street patter like "Alright but,  ows it going?" or  "I'll be there now in a a minute" so saying "in da house" is kind of an extension of that dialect - except I'm white and wear age appropriate clothing some of the time.

Hopefully they play Sunday if they do play.

Radiohead, New Order and EWF would do me... as Radiohead are playing

Lush, fair play.

The world would be a far better place if it had more Martin Ashfords in it. Perhaps a little too much Taylor Swift would get played for my tastes, but it would be a better place on the whole.

does anyone have any info about their tour plans other than dublin and glasgow?

been hoping they would play west holts for the last few years but not going to glastoinbury this year due to ridiculous clashing with a work trip to the states :( so really hoping they play a show in london/england before the festival too!

I just hope they don't clash with New Order (assuming your info on them is correct). That'd be 2 headliners sorted for me.

they might do, cos I know the WH bookings are done without any reference to who might be playing elsewhere.

So I was explicitly told, the only act on another stage who would have them consider who to put against that would be Prince ... and so that one has already happened (tho without the purple prat actually playing elsewhere)

Completely. And Bobby Womack in 2013 was something quite special, too.
