The Fermi paradox

Recommended Posts

The "how you wipe your arsehole" thread got me thinking about Arthur C Clarke's proposition that we all may be descended from extraterrestrial excrement. Some of the first earthly astronaut's shit is well on it's way to escaping the solar system by now. Time allows for such possibilities.

Surely the work of an extraterrestrial, nearly an hour long, barely changing, 1984, so ahead of it's time. In an infinite universe this plays at all times, somewhere, forever......................

The list used to be very long. Very long indeed.

It got shorter and shorter. Now it just consists of, Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu and Rihanna.

Artists I dreamed would play the festival one day , but still have not.

Notice the similarity here?

One or all of these must be around this year, surely

He He. My Dad was an Atheist.

Please, Bury me in my gave while this one plays. Please.

Quote

My father made me swear an oath and said, "I am about to die; bury me in the tomb I dug for myself in the land of Canaan." Now let me go up and bury my father; then I will return.'"

It frankly shocked me when I found out that the lyrics to this tune were written by a man. Carole king's estranged husband in fact. Still. she wrote the melody. and this is one of the most evocative tunes of all time......
