Superstu
Very interesting read. Looks like Elton is off the cards if the legend slot hasn't been rumoured much. Hope the stage in the trees doesn't effect the glade, enjoyed it last year.
Spindles
Suggestion that the fallow year was changed from 2017 due to touring schedule of one or more acts sort of makes you wonder what that's about also. She was referring to the Sunday teatime slot as having not been rumoured, not the legend slot, that's referred to the lunchtime slot in the piece, so he could be the one
paulmuchmore
I wonder if the John Peel is becoming an outside stage rather than a tent? What else could be changing about it?

What else could be changing about it? That would be a mistake. The tentness is the only thing it's got to distinguish itself. I generally prefer open air stages to tents, but it's great sometimes to get a bit of darkness in the day. Hopefully they're giving it an Other Stage style makeover. giantkatestacks
I would like to see it where Arcadia is. I know it won't be moved but its a right pita where it is now.
JoBalls
If they are 80% there with the lineup and have two out of three headliners signed on the dotted line already, then hopefully we won't have to wait until mid-April for the lineup next year! :D
stocky3000
Got to be thinking that JP must be going outdoors? Unless it changes location I can't think what else it would be

Mezhyp1
I would say the Adele photo is purely the BBC adding to speculation, though she does look like headlining, and has for a while now The point that EE is claiming she hasn't seen the legend act rumoured at all is a head scratcher, I've ran out of ideas on that one
Alan_C
Could it not be a band rather than a solo artist? Reading that interview, it seems pretty clear that one of them is Adele. The way she says they couldn't get any bigger. Coldplay and Adele. I wouldn't put Muse in that category, but they are big still. Am I reading it right, they chose to have the festival in 2017, rather than 2018 because of touring schedules?
Spindles
The start times for the Legend slot the last few years. Lionel Richie 4pm Dolly Parton 4.20pm Kenny Rogers 3:45pm Paul Simon 4:30pm Ray Davies 4:15pm Tom Jones 4:30pm There are 3 slots after this, including sub and headliner, so I'm guessing that the teatime slot referred to is the one after the legend but before the sub. CaledonianGonzo
For the last couple of years, the act that follows the Legend Slot has been a pretty big fish in their own right.

I would class this as afternoon teatime - the legend spot. That's what she is referring to. Anything after that is definitely dinner time!! Alcatraz
Where do they mean 'woods' as well. As in along the Railway track?
balti-pie
The legend is so obviously Tom Waits it's untrue! (Well, a boy can dream)
brettredmayne
Feel dirty and disgusting saying this but I'm thinking take that , could easily play before a headliner as be billed as a special guest. sorry I feel ashamed even saying this
Lubic
Might just be a new bigger tent for JP. Like the one they use at Reading. Cant see them making it yet another outdoor stage. That's what seperates it from the Other stage.
