Shame you couldn't stay Neil it's been a classic - far too morning for a proper reply yet but the atmosphere has been just incredible this year. Sector 6 is a fantastic addition and the sitewide improvements really stepped things up a notch. Late night volumes were a little shaky at points but that's not really their call

The new internal security seemed brilliant checking through the floored people with hugs rather than aggression (quite literally) - 23,000 complaints about Specialised - everyone I spoke to was happy it was being done right this year.

As said in deep heartfelt tones by Leftfield "oh yes we like it here, we're definitely coming back."

Wow, what a wonderful festival. New areas are superb and sector 6 was an incredible spectacle as a stage. The place just keeps getting bigger and better. No issues with toilets this year, crowd control and splitting the acts and stages were perfectly structured with no crowding issues at all. And as frostypaw mentions above, excellent security and policing which made for a much more relaxed atmosphere. Seemed to be a lot more older crowd as well and not just the usual young whippersnappers getting as smashed as they possibly can.

Hats off to Boomtown, if they can solve the entry issues that plagued a few on the Thursday, it'll be more or less the perfect festival.

Will 100% be attending again next year.

Agree with the above posts, security were top notch this year, met with smiles on our arrival rather than the aggressive and heavy handed attitude last year. All round amazing atmosphere and I'll definitely be back next year. However my only criticism would be the sound at Banghai Palace on Saturday night after midnight. I realise this is out of the hands of the organisers and down to the local council but such a shame to have that huge and incredible setup, with some of the finest D'n'B producers on show, yet completely missing the bass in the drum'n'bass. How was sound at Sector 6 on Saturday night anyone?

We think the sound problems in Banghai were reflections - they got louder as more people joined the crowd

Wierd one to us was the Sewage Works, that was quieter then we get at home... Presume they had an unexpected alignment issue and it was broadcasting crystal clear into some other venue

Ref , Saturday night at Banghai,I was already back at our van up by kids town and passed out in the awning when I got awoken by a god awful cacophony of noise coming from downtown just after 1am. It was just a huge roar of indistinguishable sound.

The wind must of caused some issue with the sound levels on Sat night. It hadn't been like that on Thurs or Fri night.

It's terrible news - we watched that incident unfold if it's what we saw in Sector6 camping. That seems a little harsh to point the finger right at Boomtown though - the Monday morning was utterly sweltering and anyone in a sealed tent would have been roasted.

I fear there's a group of friends who'll be beating themselves up for a long time, and making sure their mates now always have a good drink of water and are checked on in the morning

the heat might have played a part, tho if it's drug-related it's probably only the case of hastening something that would have happened anyway.

I'm in no way trying to blame boomtown - it's not them putting drugs down anyone's throat. Recent deaths at/around festivals have mostly been youngsters of around 18, which suggests to me that the issue is mostly being caused by inexperience &/or lack of knowledge about what they're taking - and quite probably also to do with the very strong pills that are around currently.

All the same, some places (more than just boomtown, t in the park is the most-obvious for this year) are seeming to help bring this out in people, and while I would strongly object to any attempt to deem them responsible or even culpable for these tragedies, I do think they should be trying very hard to find new and better ways to deal with issues around drugs - tho I appreciate how difficult this might be, given that the authorities expect them to just be 100% anti-drugs.

So so tragic with so many so young. :(
