West Holts 2016 - would love to see list

Cambodian Space Project please.  I enjoyed Raghu Dixit as their stand in, but I'd gone to see this band originally.

 

 

Was Raghu good? I'm furious I missed him because I was pissing around at, I think, lionel richie. Did he get a half-way decent sized crowd?

He played West Holts first thing on the Friday morning, so he wouldn't have clashed with the Chin.

Decent-ish crowd given that he wasn't billed. In total - with all the crowd participation and storytelling he probably only played about 5 songs all in, but it was a lot of fun.

I'm usually not for requesting acts back two years on the bounce, but definitely got the urge for a repeat perfromance from Mavis Staples.

 

if Wilco are finally appearing (i do have a feeling this time, they have been playing tonnes of festies recently, after saying they don't do festies apart from their own) ...maybe this would be made easier. Tweedy has introduced Mavis as his favorite woman on the planet besides his wife, and obviously is Producer on much of her stuff.

Playing devil's advocate, he hasn't released any music in 10 years, has never done a massive number of concerts and no world tours due to his acting commitments, and only has two UK Number 1 singles. Musically speaking, I don't think he's too big. He would pull a largish crowd, but I don't think if he's headlining it would be a problem for him to play West Holts.

 

Unless Coldplay are headlining again on the Pyramid, in which case all the other stages might be dangerously overcrowded.

yes, but it's global star Will Smith - not just some rapper who used to be popular. Men In Black, Gettin' Jiggy Wit It, Miami, Just The Two Of Us, Wild Wild West, Black Suits Comin' (Nod Ya Head), Switch, all absolutely huge when released, and i assure you that if he was announced (which i must say, i don't think he will be) it would overshadow at least one of the headliners, even just for the sheer novelty factor of it all
