Rucksacks for children

Overjoyed to have got tickets yesterday, and to be in a group with two children. This will be their first Glastonbury.

I would like to get them a "proper bag" for Christmas, i.e not a backpack with a character on or something cheap that will fall to bits. I don't want them weighed down too much but figure they can carry some of their stuff. Also they will (hopefully) enjoy being like the grown ups with their bags.

An Internet search has not been helpful, I can find plenty of bags between 10-20 litre capacity but these are for adults and all come in one size.

Can any parents recommend a suitable bag for children aged 8-10?

I can't suggest anything, except to visit gooutdoors or decathlon, depending on where you live, to check out their stock and try them on.

It's a good idea, I'd suggest water bottles, waterless soap and a hat, for carrying.

I'm not a parent but if you're anywhere near a Decathlon, take a look in there - I was in last week and I'm pretty sure they had exactly what you're looking for. There's a few on their webiste.. http://www.decathlon.co.uk/C-897863-kids-backpacks

Yes exactly what was in my head! Thank you very much.

So excited, to see the festival through their eyes. I'm not a parent but I try my best to be a cool auntie :-)

Now I know you're the cool Auntie and not mum, then you should get bourbon and flasks to make a really good festival....
