I've seen the who's name throw about, wouldn't be surprised

Yeah, yesterday they announced a couple of European fests for the weekend after so they've got a very good chance.

No idea why they'd drag it out for so long if it is them though, unless they're replacing Prince again.

the who, queen, stereophonics, faithless, adam ant, alabama 3, buzzcocks, the corrs, the damned, feeder, ocean colour scene, reef, richard ashcroft, status quo...

what year is this?!

Faithless, Ashcroft and Feeder from that lot but Ashcroft although a really weak sub is the best booking for me there.

Depressingly, I think that's it for the main stage and big top. However, Giddings confirmed that the This Feeling stage is back this year and their were some decent names on it last year.

Seems like he doesn't want us youngsters singing along to any of the words! Haha hopefully the atmosphere in the footbal tent makes up for it

So we've got 50% of the Who, Queen without Freddy, and erm.. the bloke that used to be the singer with the Verve. Why not go the whole hog and just have tribute acts? Was so hoping for Prince, Radiohead, Oasis, even U2 to headline. I'm sure the outlying tents will be worth visiting but that is not really a world-class festival, is it? Why does the IOW not attract top acts?

Bit unfair - managed to bag both Blur and Fleetwood Mac last year, two of the most wanted festival headliners. Guess every festival has its off years, although this years is pretty fucking dire over all. Surely they could've done better than a Faithless/Stereophonics co-headliner. That's just bad

That's the issue with older bands, ACDC one original member, iron maiden replacement frontman, Fleetwood Mac one original member although they did totally reinvent themselves, even the Stones aren't really  the Stones without Bill wyman and Brian Jones.

you just have to accept band lineups change and the older the band the more they change.

zac starkey whilst not technically in the Who has actually played drums for them longer than Keith Moon did.

i do however agree the line up is a bit 'dad rock' heavy and some big contemporary acts would be nice.
