No Caravan Festivals

A couple of the festivals I'd love to go to are Beautiful Days and Watchet.  But they both have a 'No Caravans' rule.  It seems you are OK in a campervan or even a motorhome but not a caravan.

I've graduated over the years from a tent, to a trailer tent and then to a caravan, which I reckon I can get into most tight spots.  But, sadly, those fests are out of bounds.  Any ideas on why?

The simple answer is space. A caravan and car take up more. Also the ground is sometimes not suitable for a caravan i.e. uneven and soft and can get stuck. Also access to the site may be unsuitable

I can see the argument but....  I've seen motorhomes bigger and heavier than my car and caravan combined. Also people who go by car and then tent wouldn't be taking up much less space.  Car would be the same size and I've seen tents bigger than my caravan.

It just seems a bit picky.

I just wonder if anyone who has actually been to either Beautiful Days or Watchet has any views on the suitability of the sites for caravans.

I won't comment on lowering the tone Scruff - but my caravan and awning are lovely tones of white and maroon.

I didn't see any caravans at all at Beautiful Days, oh no no, not even the one parked opposite us, or the one by the loos, and no doubt won't see any at Watchet neither.

Mind you everyone got stuck in the foot deep mud - so good job there weren't any
