Jcatley
Desperate need of a revival, bigger acts across a variety of music needed for 2016. Here is my early predictions that will be far off Arctics Kanye Bugg Emili Sande Tiesto Disclosure
Pothuthic
They need to avoid Emeli as a sub if they want to sell tickets
Jcatley
I agree, but i was trying to think realistic what V might try and go for
Pothuthic
They really need to pull something really special out of the bag tbh
Bisque
One Direction comeback gig would shift a few tickets.

Jcatley
Coldplay could be a good shout, I feel they need two big bands headlining again, then have big djs or pop stars doing the lower stages
Rose-Colored Boy
They need to avoid Emeli if they want to sell tickets and Jake Bugg. And Kanye. And Tiesto. Edited August 24, 2015 by Zac Quinn
Jcatley
My predictions are not what I want to be clear, just what V would likely go for these days
Rose-Colored Boy
My predictions are not what I want to be clear, just what V would likely go for these days So not who you think would shift tickets? Because only one (or at a push two) of those six would shift tickets in those positions. Thanks for clarifying
Jcatley
They definitely need someone like Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian (know they just played but someone their size) or Coldplay, someone really big And need to get artists who haven't played in the past two years, too repetitive at V festival now
Rose-Colored Boy
Depends if they can convince anyone that size to play though doesn't it. All three of those could probably sell out stadiums so have no need to play festivals unless they really want to. With regards Kanye I'd be surprised if he doesn't avoid UK fests for the forseeable future after the amount of stick he got for both Wireless and Glasters. But he doesn't sell tickets anyway. ivan
V wont get Coldplay , Glastonbury may Coldplay would want to do their own outdoor summer shows as they have been doing for years now.
Jcatley
I think they can still convince, they managed to get Kasabian this year still. Just need to chuck the money I think
thetime
Good chance ed sheeran will headline with a staple guitar headliner. Ticks the boxes anyway. Edited August 24, 2015 by thetime
benus80
Ed sheeran is absolute shoe in for v festival next year as heard people in the music business saying he will be headling major festivals next year. Plus every year for the last 6 plus years coldplay are mention and have never headline V I do not know why! daniel.k
Ed sheeran is absolute shoe in for v festival next year as heard people in the music business saying he will be headling major festivals next year. Plus every year for the last 6 plus years coldplay are mention and have never headline V I do not know why! Ed to headline maybe in 2017, havent heard any plans for a new album next year so I cant see him headlining on the same album that he has already played. Could be wrong though, and tbh maybe Wireless or somewhere kinda between the big festivals of V, T and Glasto, and smaller festivals would make sense if he does festivals next year. Could have a summer out. I would really like Coldplay to headline, it would bring back a bit of rep and sell tickets quick, so we can hope. Same for Muse, they would sell the tickets and generate more interest in the festival than KOL or Killers again.
efcfanwirral
The repetition thing is quite interesting - the programme this year has the lineup posters for all 20 years and they've never been different - some of the repetition 97 - 03 time is crazy. Supergrass played nearly every year!
Pothuthic
and Jake Bugg. And Kanye. And Tiesto.i meant more as headliners. I think Coldplay and Foos might work.
phil the shrew
It's not so much the headliners for me, more the cut backs to the stages. Change that and I might go back next year In the mid 2000's you had four genuine stages for live acts; plus the Strongbow and Barcardi bars which in themselves had really good DJ's playing. So effectively you had 6 stages to and about 80 acts a day to see Now it's down to three main stages and the dance tent, plus the comedy tent (which doesn't run all day) so you are down to about 45-50 acts a day and the choice and variety suffers as a result, especially in comparison with other newer festivals
Jcatley
Dance acts wise and headlines for other stages they should be looking at The Chemical Brothers and Disclosure, need at least one of those
ivan
I think they can still convince, they managed to get Kasabian this year still. Just need to chuck the money I think Kasabian are not at the same level as Coldplay. Festival headliners yes , but multiple stadium shows in the UK no ! And how come Coldplay have not played for V years ?
