I've work for Barcode at V Festival & BST for the last 2 years. At V, I worked 12 - 10 and got to see the second half of the headliner. For my lunch break, I got to choose one band I could go to see their full set. 
BST I worked essentially non stop all day, with a small break. Luckily, I was  on the bar directly oposite the main stage, so I got to see a lot of the acts.
I imagine Reading would be similar to V Festival, with just one break during the day to see a band and depending on how busy your bar is, you may get away early to see a closing act.
