Couple Qs about tents

Recommended Posts

If its just me and my mate going, is it better to get one 4 man tent or two 2 man tents next to each other? What are the pros/cons of each? (I can only think of the fact that you have more privacy alone in a 2 man tent if you wish..)

Also, any point in having a 'flag' so you can recognise your tent when stumbling back at drunken o'clock? Or is that just an invitation for someone to piss on your tent, or something along those lines?

Thanks

4 man if you want socialising area if the weather is pish. It's better for storage too. 2 x 2 man if you want special alone time or if you are lucky enough to pull. Also better if some drunken twat falls into your tent and breaks a pole, or one leaks, you have an emergency back up. Personally I'd take a 4 man and a 2 man but that's just me :)

Yep, that is the risk you take.

If that's the one you're thinking of getting, it's fine. I took it last year. Survived the rain.

i had a similar one in 2012 and in 2013 and it stood up to that monsoon at leeds, year after i decided to get a 5 man dome which is massive but its fantastic for getting changed in and keeping all your gear in,got a great deal on it....so id say go with the 4 man or bigger if its in your budget
