HAPPY BUS

Me and a mate are both travelling up on Thursday using Happy Bus instead of City Link.

 

Just wondering if anyone has had any experiences with them in the past, how strict they are? etc.

What do you mean how strict? Like in drinking on the bus etc?

I've used Happy Bus more times than I'd like to count (think it was 05/06 I started using them)

 

Never had any issues, we've always been allowed to drink on the bus (however sometimes have to bribe the driver)

 

Some of them have even offered to hide things in the glove compartment for getting past police checks (think this was either for Rockness or Creamfields)

Ive read somewhere aswell that if you throw the driver some cash then sometimes they let you smoke on the coach aswell?

Yeah - It all depends on the driver - some of them let you smoke.

 

Some of them you have to offer them cash just to drink.

 

Even if they don't let you smoke they'll normally stop a few times on the way - where you getting the bus from?

Certainly sounds happy to me!

To be honest though I've never had a problem having a few cans on the citylink buses.

Were getting it from Leeds, think it's setting off roughly at 7:15am

We used them last year, never had a problem till trying to get the bus home. Ended up on every bus except ours cos it wasn't marked where it was going. Used them for creamfields too, everyone drinking and doing lines, bus driver had the tunes on. Great atmosphere

got the happy bus last year. Took forever as we were the first pick up on the way there and last on the way back and it picked people up from a million small towns. Driver was fine with people drinking on the bus. I never bothered taking a carry out which probably made the journey seem even longer!

I'm going up with Happy Bus tomorrow from Glasgow. I seen on the tickets that there's a luggage limit of 1 rucksack/ suitcase, 1 case of beer/cider 1 hand luggage and 1 two man tent or larger for sharing. Does anyone know how strict they are with this? We have 4 cases between 2 people, a tent, sleeping bags which we have on two of those festival type trolleys. Just don't fancy ditching some crates.
