elias
Came across this: http://thewho.com/28-june-2015-glastonbury-festival-worthy-farm-sussex/ I'm not sure that some of the facts aren't a little off, but it was incredibly interesting to read an insiders view of things. tom22
Just a few factual errors in there (Sussex, 2006 etc.) but interesting.
paulmuchmore
It confirms that Prince pulled out!
CaledonianGonzo
Seems to confirm that they were a replacement for Prince. LONSDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
stuartbert two hats
Hang on, it says they were a replacement for Prince, it doesn't confirm it. It also says that they were last there in 2006. Doesn't mean it is true.

The Placid Casual
Yeah, Prince should never be asked back.
Mardy
hehehe, It confirms nothing. Other than that the who played there last Sunday
**claire**
Biggest crowd of the weekend though? That's a wild claim if ever I heard one.
giantkatestacks
It does however say that he decided not to play THIS year. Sigh.
paulmuchmore
Sure, if we're being pedantic it doesn't 'confirm' anything, but one of The Who's crew saying they were only asked to play because Prince didn't want to, along with Neil saying that's what he believes to have happened is strong enough for me to believe that's what happened with this year's Sunday headliner saga. zero000
Someone has been boosting Rog's ego with that one. Did he not see Lionel Richie?
Andy0808 v5
The crowd was extremely thin for them, although did stretch back. I had sick in my mouth after reading Sussex
Rose-Colored Boy
The crowd was extremely thin for them, although did stretch back. I had sick in my mouth after reading SussexIt went as far back as George Ezra's, though there was ~5x as much room inbetween each person for The Who. Jakkkkobz
What a motherfucker, give up on Prince now. Interesting article tho
gizmoman
"Didn't have time for a sound check", Pyramid sheet pictured shows load in 3.00 a.m - SC 6.00 a.m. So they could have had a sound check if they hadn't slept til 5.30!
gizmoman
Looks like the headliners get a chance (even if it is 6 a.m.), the year they showed the football on the pyramid on Thursday Oasis had their gear on stage and were presumably sound checking. The Nal
does anyone have a sound-check? Yeah headliner gets to. Well, a roadie soundcheck. Saw Springsteens crew doing it at 9am when he played.
The Nal
what does it consist of? is it just checking the mics are working, or are songs performed? Playing every instrument and mic, checking levels, hiss, echo, feedback etc with the sound desk guys working overtime to make sure its all good. Seen it a few times at Glasto actually on my morning brekkie run. U2 did it I know. Then the other acts of the day use their own set up and instruments so as not to mess about with the headliners setup. Hence the roll on roll off stage setups. Which I think is relatively new for Glasto. So its not a sound check with them playing songs but they are checking the sound. CaledonianGonzo
He might have thought it was the worst gig The Who had ever played, but it was better than that Vegas Job one I watched a bit of last night on Sky Arts.
The Nal
yes. That's pretty bad. I'd totally given up on The Who for a while. It all changed when they got Zak on drums Townshend also hated their Woodstock performance, which for me, has barely been equaled (from the footage I've seen... not having been there). A good few bands hated Woodstock. CCR refused to be included in the movie due to sound issues. And Fogerty said that because they followed The Grateful Dead everyone was asleep! The Who were on even later, after CCR at 5am ish, which is why Townshend hated it.
kerplunk
Is it true Rog called Paul Weller a w*nker (ie dedicated Pictures of Lily to him)?
