arriving by train with 2 kids

Recommended Posts

Hello, Needing some advice.

I am traveling on my own with 2 kids and probably weighed down by rucksack (heavy) (suitcase) heavy lol.We are arriving by train and looking for the best way to get from the station to the festival.I see there is a shuttle bus,or would i be better getting a taxi?We are staying in one of the bell tents in the Deer lodge area.

So excited about Kendal as never been before, arriving Thursday afternoon.

Any advice would be great on how far i will need to walk with all my gear from drop off point.cheers :)

I'm sure some of the locals will advise you on the best way to get from a to b, there's plenty of them on here. They usually post taxi numbers of decent firms as well so just hang on a little.

The taxi drop off point is at the main enterance, we're waiting for an updated site plan so we know where the luxury fields are situated before I guess how long it'll take to walk 10 it. Probably around 10 to 15 mins tho.

Depends on the age of your kids but I would recommend getting a cab if they are young. Had six in my party in 2013 and could only get 4 in the car with all the gear so 2 went by train. They didn't book a cab just got one from the train station and it was £9 one way.

I'm guessing, but reckon the same as ram, about 15 mins to where the deer lodge reception was last year, maybe 20 mins when carrying bags and kids. The bell tents were a bit further away from the Deer Lodge reception than the Pod Pads. But the layout has change slightly each year. But at least you don't have to put any tents up when you get there.

Enjoy.
