People complaining about Muse, Coldplay, Adele and then being ok with Foos, Fleetwood Mac and Ed Sheeran?!??!?!

Its all just interchangable arse feta that would be hideously dull en masse either year!

dull yes but at least they havent headlined godknows how many times like those other 2 turds.

It's not so much the dull music of coldplay and muse that bothers me - as you point out, chances are headliners are almost always going to be dung - it's the utterly depressing lack of imagination shown by the bookers.

I'm not sure they want to promote new headliners.

It was Glastonbury who gave muse and Coldplay their big breaks as headline acts, so they've done it in the past.

id take foals over muse and Coldplay, it would be something new and would be interesting to see if they could pull it off

If the Adele thing didn't happen and Roses aren't possible, would someone like Foals not be obvious? Just going by the thing of them wanting to promote people to headliners.

the thing about them promoting people to headliners is a myth sadly.

the festival is now too big for its (welly)boots. Megastars or bust.

I wouldn't play poker with adele as she seems to be able to lie and bluff quite easily  if she does play.

Multiple times in the last few weeks she has spoken about how she isn't playing glastonbury

Actually, as far as I'm aware she's not categorically stated that she isn't. Instead, she's said stuff that leaves you drawing the conclusion that she isn't, but it's not an outright 'i'm not playing'.

Can't deny it's a nice narrative they're building I guess.

The worst thing about the suspected headliners is that, despite them being a poor booking, it won't make getting tickets in resale any easier cause they're huge.

Edit: Ok, maybe the worst thing is their recent music, but my point still stands.

nah, anyone who really wants to see Coldplay and Muse will buy tickets for their own gigs. not many people are suddenly going to want to go to Glastonbury just because they're headlining.

if Adele is going to do Glastonbury, then she'll probably be doing her own massive gigs too. I very much doubt she will do either though.

I was just thinking about it. She comes on stage, and says a few words about how terrified she is, with a little act to go along with it. She then bursts into one of her better known songs, and delivers it perfectly. Crowd is eating out of hand.

From that trailer for a show tonight that's been running on the beeb for what seems like years already, it looks like she knows exactly how to act it up.

I don't think it's beyond the possibilities.

Betfair are offering £30 in free bets to new account holders placing a £10 bet. They've got alright odds on Adele/Coldplay/Muse as Saturday headliners (6/12/EVNS) - seems like an easy way to cover yourself

Foals will be exclusive to R&L, no chance of them doing Glastonbury this year.

It has to be said that provided they do, FF and GNR would be just what's needed. They can't risk it by booking that and a reformed GNR will be the booking of the year should they have them. I don#t think that can be beaten by anyone especially when they'll have beaten Download to them who will have to wait until 2017 for them. I think if R&L had them and so did Coachella then it'll be Feb before we know, R&L coming out with them as their 1st header will ruin Coachella's big drop and that's not happening. Not like it won't sell out with it is it.

If Ray and Dave Davies ever get around to reforming The Kinks, where would they fit in at Glastonbury? They have an embarrassment of amazing songs, one of the best british bands ever.

They'd want to hurry up! But a full well rehearsed greatest hits set they would be 2nd last on at least? They should really cash in on the full album thing and reform and drop a full album into the odd show. They've 4 or 5 they could do. Not many bands can claim that. Village Green, Face to Face, Muswell Hillbillies, Arthur, Something Else......

What was said on the Zane lowe interview that was mentioned this week?

gotta say i'm quite a fan of her new album. if you didn't like her before then the chances are that it's not going to win you over - it's mostly more of the same - but it's a great follow up to 21 and about as good as you could expect from her. would definitely go see her if she played and nothing spectacular was up against her

I'm edging towards the same boat, if only for the fact I'd never pay for her on her own but something intrigues me but as you, I'd only go if nothing major was clashing.
