wilson123
yeah reckon The Prodigy are a realistic option to go against Adele Didn't this only happen a few years ago? I swear I watched them on the Other Stage. They had an absolutely awful set hampered by sound issues.

Vanderlyle
The way things are panning out I might have to acquire membership of #TeamRiRi. I quite liked Rihanna in her pre-slag days. I don't wanna be.... a murderer.

picicata
A friend of mine made me listen to Good Girl Gone Bad on a car journey... I can only hope that her more recent offerings have seen her improve greatly as that was absolute dirge.
Mardy
For once I agree with your anti-nostalgia ranting. You see, even a stopped c**t is right twice a day.
Vanderlyle
"pre-slag" fucking hell Jeez - she sold out her Magic roots and made her bed with Radio 1. Just like Nelly Furtado before her.

Being needlessly obtuse doesn't justify or explain your use of that terminology.
AdamWillingham
Saw Rihanna at Radio 1s Hackney Weekend a few years back, 2011 I think. She was distinctly average. Brought on Jay-Z for a few songs and he was even worse.
Vanderlyle
Being needlessly obtuse doesn't justify or explain your use of that terminology. Not sure what the 'needlessly obtuse' stuff is about. Either way, really am sorry if that term is particularly offensive (which it appears to be). Did not think that. Always took it to be a fairly amusing and meaningless type of insult - that Bianca might fling at Sharon at Eastenders... I assumed the actually more offensive part was the underlying suggestion that it was somehow negative for women like Rihanna to embrace and be free with their sexuality? Which I didn't mean, much. Vanderlyle
That's essentially the offensive thing about the word 'slag'. Ok. So the terminology and the meaning were one and the same Like I said, I didn't mean the latter and apologise because really didn't think 'slag' had quite so much baggage to it. Shall we go back to headliners? Whilst it's a bit of a shame - I haven't seen any breakthrough UK bands in recent years that are worthy of headline status - so would be very happy to see a Pulp, Radiohead or Roses play. Reckon one of them is pretty likely too.

Vanderlyle
Roses would need new material. Not sure about that. They'd be a nostalgia headliner and I'd probably prefer not to hear too much bollocks new stuff. They're not quite like Radiohead or someone who you actually hope/expect to develop. I'm more than happy just to hear the same old stuff
mufcok
Apparently Ian Brown was telling people at that Dynamo show the other night that new material is on the way and they are by no means finished. Refuse to let myself even think about the possibility after the last 'Roses gate' on here
