I thought it was more likely that a bet would be if a lot of huge bets are placed, rather than the occasional guy placing a fiver?

I doubt it'd take a lot to change the odds or close betting on small novelty markets. Like I could imagine them not even taking a £50 bet or something. Worth remembering that they've closed betting on Oasis a couple of times and I think Coldplay because a bunch of people here threw money on that. I think it might have happened with The Stone Roses too.

I know you love to say you're 'Out of It' but she's sold something like 30 million albums in the span of five years... Come on that's a headliner!

No, definitely big enough, would be a huge coup for the festival, no doubt about it, just not someone i ever expected to be on the Pyramid, just didn't think it was her thing, that's all

You may be right, it may not be her thing - but i'd say Adele would be more likely to headline Glastonbury than any other festival.

Have the bookies ever suspended betting on a headliner this far out before? They must know something?

I doubt they know something. It's probably just more to do with the amount of bets going on her.

Whether those bets are being placed with knowledge I've no idea, but if you've noticed I've been trying to tell people that I've heard the "fear of crowds" thing has been hugely over-played in the press, and that there's no particular reason why Adele couldn't do it if she wanted to.

You need to start believing this, because even if Adele isn't next year I reckon she'll be doing it soon enough.

Don't hold back Russy.

Any particular reason she's a turd?

speaking to Q magazine, the Rolling in the Deep singer said, "I'm mortified to have to pay 50%! [While] I use the NHS, I can't use public transport any more. Trains are always late, most state schools are shit, and I've gotta give you, like, four million quid – are you having a laugh? When I got my tax bill in from [the album] 19, I was ready to go and buy a gun and randomly open fire."

You have to admit though, Adele is better in quality than a lot of pop - she's not really comparable to a lot of stars.

But when has popularity vs quality really effected a festival booking though?

I don't have to admit any such thing. I think she's dreadful.

Adele would be a massive coup for Glastonbury if they get her to perform her first ever headlining festival set.

The BBC would be slobbering all over her to get her on TV & The Sun/Mirror would jizz.

Dunno if I'd be arsed to see her mind.

Yeah, the government can't just tax things. That's not how it works.

This little look to camera absolutely kills me every time, she's prattling on, and he just slyly looks at the camera, as if to say to I, the reasonable viewer "I fucking know, right?".

Taylor Swift at 50/1 seems like a pretty decent bet

Where's this? It's not one of those scams when it's only on a certain day, is it?

I think Taylor Swift would be very dependent on her having a European tour next year at the exact same time of year again like this year - unlikely I would've thought. Can't see her making the trip especially.

yeah i'd put a lot of money on it not being Taylor Swift. she was literally in the country down the road when this years festival was happening - i don't see why she'd come over again for Glastonbury next year (and, on the second leg of her tour)

Kayne did a similar thing this year so I don't think its implausible and if the headliners are already booked maybe one of them could someone who was too busy headline this year. Also I think the chance of headlining Glastonbury is the kind of thing an act would go out their way for and at 50/1 I'm tempted to put a fiver on it.
