Decorating ones tent....

So having purchased a new to me tent, I know full well I'm going to stagger back to a tent that looks like my old tent, What it the best way to make ones tent stand out amongst the sea of tents?

I have considered a flag, but the logistics of the pole staying upright, the argument over what to have on the flag is all too much! Have also though of sticking a blow up flamingo on top of the tent, not sure how to get it to stay there mind...

Has anyone got any "sensible" suggestions?

We have a bright orange triceratops called Rhodri, who sits on our tent. Held in place by the bungees we use on our trolley.

Have used a pole with solar lights for 10+ years now ever since it took me 2 hours or more to find my tent the first time I camped in pennards

Solar fairy lights are your friend! We decorate our tent inside and out, but have never properly cracked the flagpole. Last year we had a "camp badger" flag on a bamboo cane but it didnt work particularly well.

I always use fairy lights.

Used bunting once, looked cool but they're made of paper so didn't work for Glastonbury for obvious reasons.

I don't think so, they're £1 in Primark and probably everyone will have one.

I do have mine already and was planning to attach to a flagpole and carry with me, but i'm reviewing this option already.

Was thinking a blow up Pineapple, but having googled and realised that swingers use the pineapple I don't fancy finding lots of hopefuls hanging around the tent! LOL

I don't think so, they're £1 in Primark and probably everyone will have one.

This I wasn't aware of. You can get all sorts of inflatable crap on eBay.

Regards finding my tent, I go for the camp not too far from the pathway option so can usually see it. I also have set pathways in my mind so I know when to turn off. This also helps with avoiding guy ropes.

Had a mate who sprayed in large letters "This is my F**cking Tent " on the side of it .Seemed to work for him .. I was dubious ..

Have you ever googled on fieldcandy tents? There's some unique designs!

Halfords are doing some of the fancy design ones now as well, a bit pricey for my taste, but well made and distinctive.

My son is using an old Eurohike Avon of mine that we decorated to look like a tortoise...it's a veteran of half a dozen glastonburies and a few Readings, no trouble finding that one

These are a total bargain! I was looking for some after a camp flag fail last year, but they all looked really pricey. Great find!

Go with the flagpole and flashing lights. I've found that the best results are to have 240 volt lights, powered with a 12 volt car battery and an inverter that boosts the 12v up to 240v. Stands out like nothing else in the dark.

Pretty spinakers and other things are fine by day but useless at night, which is when you really need to find your way home.

I usually get by by tying a couple of colourful ribbons near the entrance and remembering roughly where I've camped.
