IMO he's twice as good as dolly but i don't think he holds the same novelty value so his crowd will be a lot less.

I will be there. Seen him once before and he was fantastic.

Doubt it. He's not "must see" in the same way Dolly was. It'll depend on who's on elsewhere, I'll see him if there's nothing else on but wouldn't think twice about ditching him for something better.

Not a hope, Dolly had what is suspected as the biggest crowd ever for the Pyramid.

The stones crowd was biggest ever, in certain of it.

And there'll be someone along in a minute to tell us we're both wrong and Bowie had more.

Ultimately it's impossible to accurately judge as nobody can cover the entire field.

From personal experience the biggest crowd I've been a part of was The Stones. And I was at all three.

I saw Dolly from my tent in the big ground and it was very busy but when I walked to the path above the pyramid the people were fairly spaced out. I walked from my tent to the path for the stones half an hour before they started and it was tightly packed at the back then, the stones had more people

And yet, where I was stood for the Stones, it felt half empty. (2/3 of the way back, on the right)

Was about halfway back for the Stones before needing the loo. Walked to the toilets by Williams Green and there were electronic signs saying the Pyramid Field was full. Never seen that before it since.

Watched the rest from the little hill by the bar next to the Cider Bus. Had a great view and could get to the bar easily.

Depends on who he's up against, of course, but would reckon that The Chinionel's crowd will be a fraction of Dolly's.

Busier than Kenny Rogers, quieter than Paul Simon, maybe about the same as Ray Davies'.

I know you can't count them but it's pretty much a certainty that the Stones crowd was the biggest. It was incredible. I was one of the furthest people back up the top of some hill I'd never been up before. Was amazing getting on my mates shoulders and looking down on all those people.

I think it will take a lot for the Stones to ever be topped in terms of crowd size, out of curiosity has there been any other times they've closed the arena due to overcrowding? Sign said arena full when I got there but managed to find a way in.

Not sure it's possible to close the field, it's too open at the back and to the left. Think they were just trying to get people to go the long way round

He appeals to all ages and is possibly better than any of the headliners in terms of his back catalogue.
