stopwn1981
The flip side to yesterday's question...mine is the whole Silver Hayes drag between Other and John peel. Might be my age or distaste for dance music, but the whole area seems to lack any real character (lack of hedgerows haha). To keep it positive, feel free to sell this and any other least favourite areas to other goers!
Wanderlei
Shangri-La, Arcadia, Block 9. They're too crowded, and they scare me.
Gwladboy
Other Stage. Sound just seems to blow around even in a light breeze and comes in waves. For years my mate said it was because I'm stood on the left and should be on the side. Last year stood on the other side and it was the same. Controversial I know. TomViolence
Arcadia really didn't do it for me (too quiet)
st dan
Yeah, Arcadia has the potential to be incredible ... but it is generally too busy, the queues for the bar are ridiculous and the sound is terrible!
Inconspicuous
I don't like the Silver Hayes area much either... I've only ever seen one act there I think but walk through a lot because my mate can get backstage passes every year which means you can get a nice cheap meal in the crew area. Just seems a bit soulless to me? And although the music and the actual tent is good, the John Peel area hasn't got a whole lot going for it either. I'd say that whole north westerly corner really. rikkirascal
Definitely Silver Hayes. Always camped next to this place and I'm considering going to another spot.
kalifire
Edit: Nope. Not going to contribute to a neg thread. Edited April 19, 2015 by kalifire
Badlands
That whole corner of JP and Silver Hayes leaves me cold, though I do like the Beat Hotel for a nice pint of San Miguel. I've only seen one band in John Peel (Tyler), the sound was awful.
Keithy
Other Stage. Sound just seems to blow around even in a light breeze and comes in waves. Terrible location for sound quality
General Lee
Beat Hotel. Annoys me just walking past the place.
Hugh Jass
When it's overcast the Other field takes on a very bleak quality. Silver Hayes is a pain to walk through when it's muddy.
brendan84
Acoustic stage. So far away from everything and where we regularly camp!
pie_and_a_pint
Other, but only because the sound is consistently poor. Oddly, when we saw Portishead (AKA The Best Gig Ever) there, they nailed the sound but it was a still, mild evening. One gust of wind and the sound blows away to god-knows-where. Jackmypie
Dance village or Silver Hayes as it is now called. Completely different atmosphere to places like the greenfields/park area.
MEGABOWL
The Other because it has iffy sound in any breeze, lacks character (it's one of few bits of Glastonbury where you really could be at any festival anywhere) and is profoundly depressing in the rain. That said, I have had some cracking times there so it's by no means all bad.
Alcatraz
Arcadia surpassed Silver Hayes last year. Just not worth it anymore

topmarksbri
Another vote for Silver Hayes. Just seems like a different atmosphere than the rest of the site, a bit more aggro.

poison69
The markets / Food areas They suck up far too much of my money! Not too keen on the cashpoint areas too otherwise, it's all good

Starchild771
I really like the venues at Silver Hayes (The Blues/The Gully/Pussy Parlor ect) but that great big muddy expanse in the middle gives the area a strange atmosphere. I think something substantial and creative in the middle area would help the atmosphere. As for people, I have found that the bit that causes problems over there is the area where the two crowds meet going in opposite directions after the main acts finish. Zero_Newnab
Other stage definitely has the worst sound and seems the 'least' Glastonbury-esque stage to me. To try and balance the negativity on the thread I'll leap to the defense of a stage which a lot of people seem to not like - I love John Peel! It's about the right size to have a great crowd but not be a mile away from the action, it's covered if it rains and fun to sit just outside if it isn't. It's the best place for up and coming acts that everyone will be talking about next year too.
A Guy Called Matt
Worst area? Wherever you are when you have to leave.
