Australian first timers - Where to buy camp Gear and advice

Hello, we are two australian first timers, travelling with a few people who have attended before. We are getting the coach on wednesday morning. We will only be in London for only 1 day before the festival. Would love to know what you think we would need to bring, and where to get it in london (bearing in mind it has to go on the coach) - We will be staying near Shoreditch.

Obviously we need a tent - We want to go for something that is not too expensive (we can't take it home with us) but also that is not too small and is quality enough to get us through 5 days comfortably. Going to get Sleeping bag / pillow / wellies / baby wipes as well so anywhere you know that you can easily get these sort of items?

Any other pointers on gear would be welcome :)

If you're in Shoreditch hop on the Overground south to Canada Water. You're then close to the Decathlon superstore where you should be able to satisfy all your camping needs.

There's also a large Tesco supermarket there where you will be able to get wet wipes, pillows and probably vodka in a plastic bottle/carton...!

Don't get a 2 man tent for 2 of you! Either a 4 man if you're a couple or 2 x 2 man if you're not. Ones with a little porch area are usefull for keeping your wellies in and getting keeping your sleeping area dry if it rains (which it isn't going to! ) These types can be quite cheap and aren't too heavy to carry ....and please, even if your not taking all fo your new stuff home with you, pack it away on Monday morning and put it neatly by the side of a path, it'll be tempting not to as so many don't but at least you'll go home with a warm fuzzy feeling! There will be plenty of "wombles" looking for nice, clean, hardly used kit to take home and clutter up their garages.

You'll be able to buy your camping equipment off Tesco online, click and collect at a store close to where you are staying http://www.tesco.com/direct/sports-leisure/camping-hiking/cat3376544.cat?catId=4294960501

You'll be able to buy most of the other stuff in Tescos, online click and collect via Argos (although both aren't camping shops) if you possibly want a better quality tent then maybe look in decathlon etc
