Yeah, my mistake...

They are only accepted in the East....

As to how far from the gate you will be...???

Depends what day you hirer drops it off I suppose...

Worst case, you should only be about 15 minute walk from the gate.

Best case, you could roll down the HOD...

i have seen them in different fields in previous years, so maybe they are spread about... regardless.. its not a disaster wherever they are... I have taken an interest because i may consider this option when the dreaded 'damp' finally puts paid to mine.. are they expensive for the week.?

i heard back from the caravan company, they said it varies from year to year but last year their vans where in E15 , that looks about as far away as you can get! its costing me £450 for a 2 berth , i didnt think that was too bad.

It is quite a schlep i suppose.. but it will be dry and sunny this year :D so no worries... that sounds a decent price tbh.. Hiring a campervan woud cost twice that and you have the cost of fuel (and stress) of driving it there. they usually have an awning set up etc.. so it looks a good option.

awning already put up is an extra 125.00 but i am considering it, i like the idea of just pulling up next to it and starting on the vodka , this is my first time , i dont think ive ever been so excited , after trying several times before i have finally got tickets, so happy :curtsey:

£125 will seem like money well spent 'if' my promise of continual sunshine doesnt come to fruition... i would recommend it.

Turn up on tuesday with your picnic chairs, portable bbq and a cold box full of goodies and it is a great way to ease yourself into the festival.. i still love standing at the top of the Hill of Death at dusk on Tuesday, looking down on the site before the madness begins.. it is quite serene (the calm before the storm). Print out the map and take a pair of binocularsand pick out the landmarks and what may have changed since last year....

We have arrived on Tuesday lunchtime the last couple of years. Have a bbq and a few beers, meet the neighbours..wednesday afternoon you can go and walk around the festival to get yourself orientated.. a couple of bars will be open.. cannot wait.

You will love it ! Enjoy.

Can you drive your car in and park next to your pre-delivered caravan if you are turning up after it has been delivered?

I believe so... i would make the assumption that you should turn up at the gate with all your relevant booking info and also have to buy a Campervan fields pass as well(?) But check this with the company that you made your booking with and then double check with Glasto.

After eight Glastonburys in a tent we've bought a cheap caravan for this year and this post perfectly sums up what I'm hoping for

Hi we have ordered a pre delivered caravan and was considering an awning but thought it was a bit pricey do you know if we don't go for that option there might still be room to put up a gazebo next to the caravan ? Cheers

From what i have read i think a gazebo will be fine, its probably about the same size an a full awning, im considering that also, with a couple of wind breaks, i dont want to be cooped up in an awning i'd like to see what going on around me but also be sheltered if god forbid it rains :nyam:
