Drop off/collection point.

My 16yr old daughter will be attending her school prom on the Thursday evening and my husband has offered to drive her through the night after prom, so she can be on site in the early hours of Friday morning. My question is has anyone used the drop off/collection point? Is this different to the shuttle service from Shepton mallet?Does it run through out the night? And where is it?

It's likely she will arrive around 4am. As I will already have been on site since Wednesday, I plan to meet her at gate A. However if there is no pick up/collection shuttle at that time of the morning, how successful will my husband be getting nearer to the site to drop her near gate A without a parking sticker?

All the info you need is here: http://www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk/information/getting-here/2592-2/

Yes, buses from the Drop Off and Collection Point are 24 hours. Although anyone can turn up at the car parks without a parking sticker (as they're on sale at the gate) your husband won't get access to the car parks without a festival ticket. It's possible, but not guaranteed, that your daughter's festival ticket would be enough to convince the car park stewards to let him drop her off, but as by Friday morning almost everyone will be in and parked, it's likely to be much less hassle and much shorter walk if she just gets the bus.

Thanks for that. I'll give it some thought. He will be coming from Glastonbury on the A361 and will need to pass the car parks near gate A to get to the drop off pick up point on the A371. So it might be worth giving it a try on the car parks.

Yes, definitely worth a try. They might be lucky and get a stewart willing to help. Bear in mind that if it's still dark (which it won't be if they arrive after 4am) it could be a long, disorientating walk from the car park entrance through the car parks in the dark and your husband probably won't be allowed to accompany your daughter!
