Kanye west confirmed

only positive for these 'anti hip hop headliner' people is that Kanye is essentially the last hip hop act who could/would headline Glastonbury, so they'll be safe from another for a good while (although i guess Kendrick could soon be in that position)

Mmmmm.

I think people are complaining about the festival booking such an 'arrogant' person to headline the festival and the fact that it's not another white boys with guitars type of headliner.

I saw Eminem at Reading and was very pleasantly surprised, now being a rap fan and all that. I think with Kanye's status which is of a similar status to Eminem i'm expecting a show of the same hype and vibe. I think it's a quality fresh booking, that lots of my age group will absolutely relish.

I'm just so happy that we're not getting Coldplay for the nth time.

Am i the only person here excited for this booking?

I registered just to ask this question.

One of hip-hops most influential artists. Very hyped. With Kendricks new album and this announcement its been a good day for hip hop heads.

You've just posted that on Twitter haven't you?

I read that looking at #glastonbury trending...

Kanye's show is passionate, less n word and more lights and talking about actual oppression. He will set the pyramid on fire I tell you!

oh right, I was just thinking about that song at the brits, I thought that was censored due to the n-word, and that other one n*ggers in paris or whatever its called

I'm male, 52 and think this is the best UK headliner booking at any festival this year so far. Like him or loathe him, he has us all talking - just as a great artist should. :clapping:

This is a good point. In the context of the other festival line ups, love or loathe the acts it is stronger than the competition so far (taking personal taste out of it)

Just need Kendrick Lamar and D'Angelo to complete the holy trinity. Boy will that get some of the indie shoe gazers and late middle aged cider fanatics hot under the collar. Bring it on, for too long this forum has been desparate guess work and padding. Now we really have something to be excited/exorcised about!
