Getting tickets

Hello,

A few days ago, I decided to start a long-term to-do list. For the next five years, I've decided to go at least once to Glastonbury. It's my favorite festival even if I didn't go but I've read so much good things about it. It's the only festival that could make me change my mind about going to Sziget.

However, I live in a country with a sh_tty internet connexion and I also know how it is difficult to get tickets! Do you know a way in which I could put the chance by my side or is it too of a handicap?

Thanks. :)

You just have to try, there used to be a phone number for overseas purchasers, not sure if they ditched it. And even with a poor internet service it might still be possible. Better chances tho on original sale if you team up with some others. There might even be possibilities to do that in the resale coming soon. Good luck.

Thanks for the tips! I could try both :)

See you someday!

well you could but it may not be a wise move as many volunteer jobs take a large deposit and while its possible to cancel some build in to their T&C that you can only cancel up to a certain point and even then they may levy a handling fee.
Now for sure these deadline dates vary but they tend to have them before any ticket resale - I know that shelter has a cancellation date of the end of March while the tickets may not go on sale to April.
I have been a volunteer for the past 26 years at Glastonbury - I am not a volunteer just because I cant get a ticket.
I know from previous years that some people who are not lucky will try to find a job after the resale - and they will be frantic as there is a lot less jobs available.
better to make up your mind now as to if you should be a volunteer - not everyone likes it as they cant pick their own shifts so its not for everyone.
apply at the right time and its easy { provided your from the EU } apply at the wrong time and its near impossible.

Thanks all.

@glasto-worker: I am lebanese and canadian. Non-EU...

I think I'll probably have an army of friends and hope a lot :)

Do you need a visa to visit the UK, with your Lebanese nationality, or are you dual nationality? I remember last year that someone got tickets but needed a visa and was rushing to get one at the last minute, so if that applies to you, plan up front. :-)

well in that case you may find it difficult to volunteer as the rules are complex and many volunteer charities will not think its worth the hassle.
Years ago they did not bother but these days there is so much red tape hence why they demand that anyone who is not from the EU must have a Work visa even although its unpaid work .
It could end up costing far more to get a Work visa than the actual ticket price { from some Countries it could be £600+ so really not worth it }
just before the new rules came in I met a Couple from Brazil who were working at all the main festivals - they would not be able to repeat it this year.
