I agree with this, but not because of potential purpleclash, but because Hot Chip feel like a Friday/Saturday night band to me.

I'm hoping for Hot Chip, West Holts, Friday. That would 'start' the festival for me just about as beautifully as could be.

Whilst this is a distinct possibility and, if it becomes reality, a proper bummer, I would still have to go with Hot Chip.

To see them majestically command a crowd the size of WH, in a euphoric GF headliner slot, right at the 'beginning' of the festival...? I'd have to quietly apologise to Dan for my absence but, for me, it would be a no-brainer.
