I'm buzzing about this. Southampton often gets left out with decent bands - they just play London instead. The city has been crying out for something like this, The Common is perfect for it. We used to have a shitty one day festival run by a local radio station, but not had anything on down there for years.

Can't wait to see who he manages to get! It'll be bigger than Victorious fest in Portsmouth and they have just got Basement Jaxx.

P.S. The Common is renowned for dogging (if that's your sort of thing).

My friend is having a Glastonbury themed wedding a few weeks after this, this weekend has been earmarked as the stag do so we are now having to decide between this, Glastonbudget and Simple Things in Bristol - will be interested to see what the line up is like once it has been announced.

Nice local do for me. Just hope that it doesn't attract the dickheads that have flocked to day events around here in the past. For that reason, its probably better that it doesn't go on until the early hours. I didn't go to Victorious this year but heard it was a lot better on its new site (the year before left it a bit limited). Hope it pulls a decent line-up

They've seen the success of field day, parklife and love saves the day and are just trying to get in on that arent they.

Admittedly this one could be better than the lot as rob and crew's track record with production, ideas and site decoration far surpass any other event not named glastonbury

Love saves in bristol same weekend so they will share some acts

The success of these events are all on the lineup and if they can get the sound levels higher than a murmur which has always plagued these events

Does anyone think the name is woeful? I like the Pulp song and all that but what?

Its a bit cheesy but since its going to be held on an area called Southampton Common it kind of makes sense

They had some 80's festival on the same site this year, but I didn't go to it so can't comment as to what the sound was like. A lot of stuff in Southampton tends to finish quite early, and there is a bit of residential nearby, so wouldn't be surprised if the sound isn't as good as it should be. That being said, loud doesn't mean best (had my eardrum blown out at glastonbury this year)
