Hi we managed to get tickets this year, and will be bringing a campervan planning to stay in East, can we arrive late Monday night and park up in the queue to enter. Really excited we have been three times before but now in our 50's finding camping a little hard and want to make sure we get near the entrance gate. We don't want to be worn out by the walk .Any advice tips or information on the hill walk would be greatly appreciated.

I suspect you may well be turned away, as the campervan fields don't open until noon - I would guess (and someone else may know) that they don't open the lane to let people start queuing until sometime on Tuesday morning.

The problem is many will be planning to do the same and there is always a fair number of stray campervans who don't appear to be in any hurry to go anywhere so its very possible the access route is blocked although as I was heading to the staff carpark I cant say if the block was in place .
officially its noon Tuesday but if they start allowing people to queue Monday evening this will soon block things up so there has to be some control made to restrict access as the year later people will start showing up Monday afternoon and so on and on.
+ don't forget that even if you end up in a queue there is at least 4,500 campervan pitches in the dozen or so fields on the Eastern side - It's pot luck as to which of these fields you get put in ' even if your first in the queue ' - so your masterplan may not work
Have you thought about the west ? there is roughly 1,000 campervan pitches in 2 fields to the West so its a lot less random.
Please note these are old figures - I have no information if they intend to expand the two sides next year.

There's sound advice.

Personally I'd say that you might want to invest in a pair of these.

If you get used to it now it'll not be such a bother come the festival.

Tuesday mid morning is about the earliest you can sensibly turn up. Why not try and find a Caravan Club or a Camping and Caravan Club site on the way to break your journey on Monday night?

The 'Hill of Death' to CV East isn't that bad, providing it's not really wet. No worse than the walk up to the Stone(d) Circle. Just take your time. The view from the top is great.
