Ed sheeran has confirmed on Twitter that he will finish his tour headlining Wembley stadium next summer. No dates as yet but I'm stunned that it's considered suitable.

Know he sold arenas out well and I've heard decent reviews but I just don't get it

Yep. Cannot imagine that would be anything but dull. Good for support bands though, who'll get the chance to play Wembley and blow away the headline act.

Took my girlfriend to see him on the most recent tour. He was very, very good. He's a brilliant showman, not sure if he'll fill Wembley but good luck to him.

That said I was surprised by his arena tour selling as it did. Engaging an 80000 plus capacity venue will be a challenge though and nothing I've heard suggests a show that lends itself to huge light shows etc

Last time I caught him was at Radio 1 Big Weekend at Hackney and his show seemed to consist of trying to give the audience a singing lesson. Dull.

How the fuck he is popular enough to do Wembley really is beyond me.

It's definitely true, all the details were announced yesterday. Tickets on sale 24th Nov or earlier on 02 priority.
