Would probably need another financial crash to make people think twice about paying any price necessary to see yer most in-demand Heart FM acts, though, sadly. Unless something dramatic happens there'll always be enough rich people who don't hesitate at spending £500 to give beloved Beatrice and Hugo their evening with Adele/Ed Sheeran/Little Mix. It'll inevitably be the replaceable mid-tier guitar bands students go to see for a cheap night out that'll suffer first.

Could see a rise in underground bands as a consequence of that though, people turning to the tenner gigs that constantly happen as an alternative to spending 30/40 quid to go to academy sized bands. Depends what people are in it for, I really love gigs so am constantly on the lookout for smaller bands that I'll be able to go see for cheap so I can go to as many in as possible in the month, I guess the people that wanna hear the stuff on the radio live probably won't do that. I've been to 9 gigs in the last couple of months (including Nick Cave which wasn't cheap) and spent less than a floor seated Taylor Swift ticket costs. They were all fucking A as well.

Horses for courses though innit.

Ive shelled out about #250 altogether to see "that woman" as the wife calls her. This is for next weekend and in June. Its a lot of money but Ive reached a point where I've stopped caring I'm so desperate to see her. Its only the thought of having my nuts hanging from the lampshade that stopped me going VIP. Ive  been listening to Reputation on rotation in the car for the last few weeks. The other day I went back to 1989 and I actually think Reputation tops it in many ways. The shows are going to be immense. She now has the money to do pretty much anything her imagination takes her (and if you've ever watched Journey To Fearless you'll know that she dreams up the scenarios for each song and people like Jonathan Smeeton (yes - he of Hawkwind fame) brings the ideas to life). Expect a strikingly visual show on a colossal scale.

So - actually managed to get 2 tickets in block A in the presale for Wembley Saturday today without much hassle  - not sure I really wanted to pay top face value price but bit the bullet! Hope the support acts are worth it too!! £12.00 10% booking fee per ticket was a bit steep tho!! Ouch!

Just pointing out that Reputation is considered one of the albums of the year in the Sunday Times - deservedly so.

thought it was pretty commonly accepted journalists give her good reviews to avoid hassle from her fans. Read quite a few positive reviews which clearly hadn't even listened to it. Although even then it lags a fairly long way behind the holy triumvirate of Speak Now/Red/1989 on Metacritic.

Ah come there are probably plenty of suspect reasons why journos hand out favourable reviews but I doubt they give a shit about how some bratty teens on twitter react. Especially the hacks at the Sunday Times.

More interestingly - if you can overlook the whole thing being undermined by naming a confessed abuser as runner-up - she's part of the group that have been named TIME Person of the Year http://time.com/time-person-of-the-year-2017-silence-breakers/?xid=homepage

This is excellent tho. It's slightly annoying that some people hate her so much they refuse to see why she definitely deserves to be included.

You're right, it is a great piece massively undermined by the runner up shout. In 2016 he changed the world, fair enough. In 2017 he ignored/dismissed everything going on in the world and played golf.

I miss the good old days like in 2006 when I won TIME Person of the Year.

One more sleep until I see Taylor in the flesh (from a distance mind).

Is she doing a show or is tomorrow just the day you're going to break into her house and watch her sleep?

Think it might be both.

Capital FM Jingle Bell Ball at the O2. Lots of poptastic acts including The Script, Chainsmokers and Eddie Sheeran (headlining) but I'm only there for Swiftian purposes. Should be a lot of fun. There's been a series of these in the US over the last few weeks and she definitely has met lots of fans (Tumblr has more ravenous Swifties than you could ever imagine). So, yeah, I'm hoping to be whisked backstage. Obviously I would just DIE

If she isn't then perhaps she should be. Melodrama keeps hitting the top of those end of the year lists. Probably putting here in the top 3 or 4. Drake will likely get the aggregated winner award.

As much as Reputation was/is terrible.. Taylor plays stadiums, Lorde just did an academy tour which didn't even instantly sell out, there is no comparison here.

Well, Ive seen her at last and I was very impressed. She was the first act on at 6:30pm. Luckily, I spotted a Tumblr notification otherwise I would have almost certainly missed her very short set      - Ready For It, Blank Space, Shake It Off, I Don't Want To Live Forever (solo acoustic), Gorgeous and Look What You Made Me Do. It was a thoroughly professional performance and her backing band were stunning - absolutely nailing the tunes. I was yearning for All Too Well (played recently in the US) but that was it. No Ed joining her for End Game which was a disappointment and vice versa. Sheeran closed the whole shebang which finished at 10 :30. Now I know this is controversial but Ed Sheeran was SUPERB  - he played his little ginger heart out - no guests at all. I quite enjoyed a lot of the rest - The Script were highly polished, but it was such a commercialised, branded event that I would probably not go again. The atmosphere, it must be said, was terrific - lots of families having a lot of fun - and short queues at the bars for a change.

TIME person of the year is never supposed to be the best person of the year, just the person who has most impact on that year as a whole, whether that is good or bad. The list of winners include hitler, stalin, george w bush and putin
