Taking a Motorhome and understand there is no hook up facility. Can you take a generator?

They are ok if they are fitted within the motorhome as some are. Portable ones that sit on the ground are strictly forbidden.

Although it's frowned upon I've heard people with motorhomes running up their engines at time to charge batteries.

Being next to a person with a generator has to be one of the most annoying things possible. Really irritating .. how much power could you possibly need camping at a festival?!

Just seems like very selfish noise pollution.

yep our experience last year at another festival. They put the generator at the back of their van which meant the noise was directed towards us 2 foot away. The fumes came into our awning. Made for a great breakfast!

I've grown to rely on our usual neighbour's generator. God knows how they get the thing on site but I greatly appreciate the fully charged phone.

A decent, fully charged, leisure battery should see you through a week. Most vans use Calor for cooking, heating and fridges, so it's only really a few lights.

I also have a solar panel on my caravan which acts as all the top up I need.

Yup. Leisure battery is all you need for charging. And as Deebee says, people with generators always put them round the back so they don't hear it, but they get to piss their neighbours off.

Please leave them at home.
