Pink Floyd?

I saw Roger Waters at Glasto -  We got in the mood with a lot of smoking before hand and during.

Did Roger not come on after Rolf ?

I knew I would be bored to death with Rolf so I had bought some  shroom truffles off a seller on the banking between the Pyramid and The Cider Bus  and spent a few hours sat in my own world whilst my mates kept an eye on me,

Just a shame Roger has not had a stop off at Pilton since then  with some of his shows !

So, basically, what you are saying is that you were both comfortable and numb?

True. Old Waters vocals from a USB stick and whoever won the "Be Dave Gilmour For a Night" competition on the back of the Kellogs box.

David Kilminster - no relation to Lemmy - plays guitar for Steven Wilson too - Fucking excellent guitarist. No Gilmour though

If you've spelt David's surname right then he has a different one to Lemmy so probably wouldn't be related.

I never knew Lemmy wasn't Kilminster :P so yeah he's definitely no relation. Still a damn good guitar player though.

I watched footage of the anniversary gigs for Amused to death and his voice was fucking awful, mostly he was carried by the backing singers while he croaked the lyrics tonelessly and sometimes vaguely in time.  I'd still go see him perform even though I know it would be like that Lou Reed track in the Gorillaz set, an honour to see in the flesh but the performance equivalent of a binbag of cold sick.

Lucky enough I am old enough to have seen Pink Floyd { with Waters } many times in the past { Earls Court and Wembley - various dates } and have also seen them on their solo tours - even drove to Berlin to see Waters on 21 July 1990 so I don't mind if its not the full line up

here is part of his tour

21 June  2017   Los Angeles {8 hours behind London}
24 June  2017   Seattle {8 hours behind London}
3  July  2017   Dallas

Flight Time to London is roughly 10 hours so while being pushed for time he could do it if he really wanted to { although if it does happen it wont be his full stage production }

sure it may not happen this year but you never know.

Yeah, some of the guitar work on Steven Wilsons live shows are jaw dropping.

In fact, just get Steven Wilson to play Glastonbury, at least that's more possible than the 0.0001% chance of Floyd playing.

Been saying that for years!

Would need to have a headline slot somewhere though and a long set. I'm not sure he'd do it - Porcupine Tree and Steven Wilson haven't exactly had a rich history of doing festivals but you never know!

Not sure how they'd go down at a festival.

He did a festival in Spain last year, though that was a Prog festival.

On the one hand you think, if someone likes music then they'll like Hand,Cannot.Erase.Then on the other hand, you can imagine someone at a festival wondering past a Steven Wilson set and think it's a bit boring and carry on past.

It won't happen.... A bit like pearl jam.. It just will not bloody happen end of.

its sad that a massive band that share so much of GFL values never will headline. Guess they'll tour Europe 2018 when its a fallow year, I bet they wouldn't hesitate a moment if they were approached to play further on. But I think their window has closed, which is unfortunate for one of the best live bands, still, in the world.
