Newbie with a Worthy View question

Hello

Got me some coach+ tickets! Exciting!

I had a few questions about Worthy View, can anyone help?

- Roughly when will they go on sale?
- Is it same sort of scrum for getting the type of tents you want?

- Did anyone try and get accom in Worthy View but fail cos it ran out? i.e. what are my chances of getting the type of tent I want?
- We're in a group of 6 and want to get three 2-man tents. Do we all have to scramble to get our own tents, or do we apply as a group for all three together? It would be a shame if say one pair gets the tent and the other two pairs don't.

- Does anyone have experience of staying in the little hut/shed things they also have?

Thanks very much, see you there!

I've not bought Worthy View tickets before but:

- Roughly when will they go on sale?

Beginning of next month

- Is it same sort of scrum for getting the type of tents you want?

Worse than the coach scrum apparently

- Did anyone try and get accom in Worthy View but fail cos it ran out? i.e. what are my chances of getting the type of tent I want?

yes, there were people hoping for them in the resale

- We're in a group of 6 and want to get three 2-man tents. Do we all have to scramble to get our own tents, or do we apply as a group for all three together? It would be a shame if say one pair gets the tent and the other two pairs don't.

dunno!

- Does anyone have experience of staying in the little hut/shed things they also have?

I go and have a smoke in our shed at the end of the garden sometimes, smells a bit musty and I'm sure spiders are lurking in it. Always think I must clean the window so I can see out, although there's only hedge to see. And think I should perhaps tidy up the piles of gardening shizzle that's in it. But I don't think that answers your question.

Worthy View went on sale at the beginning of November last year, I believe that you could book more than 1 tent at a time, but if you book separately you can request that they are next to each other, by giving a group name. They do sell out very quickly, they also have to be paid for in full at the time of booking - hope this helps

I stayed in WV this year for the first time, so here's my answers:

Roughly when will they go on sale?

- Is it same sort of scrum for getting the type of tents you want? Yes, unless it's scout tents, which they seemed to do a 'drip' release of. We missed out in November because of faffing "shall we/shan't we?", but booked a 4 man scout in Feb.

- Did anyone try and get accom in Worthy View but fail cos it ran out? i.e. what are my chances of getting the type of tent I want? Only because of faffing. The trendier options e.g. yurts, tipis, podpads go very quickly.
- We're in a group of 6 and want to get three 2-man tents. Do we all have to scramble to get our own tents, or do we apply as a group for all three together? It would be a shame if say one pair gets the tent and the other two pairs don't.Decide on a 'name' for your group which uniquely identifies you. Then use this group name when making your independent booking. WV will then do their best to locate your tents together, but they don't 100% guarantee it.

- Does anyone have experience of staying in the little hut/shed things they also have? No, but I walked past the 2 man podpads and they looked quite small and flimsy.

Hope that helps!

You will get an email giving you notice a week or do before the sale. It IS a scrum and everything apart from 2-man tents sold out in minutes the last couple of years.

I would recommend that you read a few of the very many other threads asking about worthy View. Some love it, plenty were pretty critical of how it went last year. Are you really sure you want to pay extra to stay outside the festival when there is such good camping inside? If you want quiet camping, head for the west of the festival site.

Got my ticket in the resale in May and booked 3 scout tents fairly easily for our group.

If you don't have any joy check back around the cancellation deadline day as there were loads of options last year.

As I travel from abroad, Worthy View makes life a lot easier as I don't have to carry everything on the plane/festival coach etc. Not having to worry about finding a spot also take a lot of stress out of it...but don't get me wrong, Worthy View is a complete rip off !!

If you are planning on going back and forth to your tent then Worthy view is a bit of a trek. But if you leave your tent at 10am and don't get back till the early hours then it's ideal....food (shockingly bad, but who cares after a day on the cider!!) and drink at the top of the hill as well.

My Mrs has agreed to treat us to some accommodation and without sounding snobbish (we're not, we're from east Manchester) we don't want to camp , was going to get a bell tent from zooloos (£500 last year, i know) this is pretty much our budget however they've just put their prices on their site for next year and put another £235 on the price!!!

We are newby's and will camp if we feel thats the best option but at this point we're a bit unsure what to do
