IF you don't get a ticket.....

In 2013 after failing, I went away for 5 days and missed the entire festival coverage. I hardly saw anything of the whole event. Other than about 6/7 acts I still don't know who was on.

I wished I had tried in the resale. IF TDay goes badly, Ill definitely try in the resale, but otherwise Ill be abroad again.

Will anyone else not be able to handle it here, or are you stronger than me?

Living local (not local enough for guaranteed tickets) I know that should I miss a ticket in the general sale there would always be a way for me to either get one or get in by another means.

Can honestly say that since I started going in 2005 the thought of not getting a ticket / not going hasn't really entered my mind!

Probably not in October but I reckon as June approached you'd get more and more pissed off.

Especially when radiohead and bowie are announced as headliners. ;-)

no doubt about it, but it's just a fun weekend now rather than a pilgrimage. I'd just go to an different festival and see bowie/radiohead there (there is no way they would do glastonbury as a one off) and have just as good a time.

I agree with the general sentiment but if you're telling me you'd have just as good a time at v or reading I'm calling bullshit.

ha I'd never go there, there are plenty of good ones abroad with the added bonus of guaranteed sun these days so no need to scrape the bottom of the barrel.

That being said, I still hope I get glastonbury tickets as it's a wonderful weekend.

Hmmm, I reckon that if I didn't get one, it would sort of be alright, still got End of the Road to see my mates, and I'd just stay another week or two working in Moscow, and avoid any mention of the whole thing, easy enough to do here, I guess. But of course, I'd be pretty upset.

Think I would just attend a festival I've never been to before instead. Or go on holiday since glasto is still an expensive way to spend 5 days in England (or a bargain when you break down the price of individual gigs). Its never as good as the first time you go, when everything is all new and exciting, and dont get me wrong, I would miss it, but the world is bigger than Glastonbury

Could you imagine if Bowie's great comeback was at V Festival

EDIT: As for not getting a ticket, I'm sure my luck will run out soon. Came very close in 2011 to missing out, which would have been awful as it was only my second Glastonbury. Got truly last minute coach tickets in the re-sale.

As sad as it sounds, I don't think I'd be as bothered as I would have been 2/3 years ago, but I'd still suffer from huge Glastonbury blues come June, I'm sure.

Its about having a network, its gives you so much more chance, this year our network has diminished by two. Will have three trying from different addresses, we've been lucky really and my mate always seems to get through, I don't know how? Anyway here's praying!

Absolute nonsense talk of not getting a ticket, never going to happen

If the unthinkable did happen I'd be devastated. Still feels like a pilgrimage to me, converted a newbie to the joys of glasto last year and hoping to convert another friend next year. My friend was absolutely blown away by the Wednesday night this year, it was amazing to see the look on his face.

I'm not going to Glastonbury next year, but will have all the usual nerves on T day as I'll be trying to get tickets for others off this site on that day. I'm not sure how I'll feel closer to the festival date and the excitement levels on here go into overload. I think I'll be alright though as I genuinely want a break from the place. I'll probably steer clear of watching it on tv though.

Not the end of the world. I go to End Of The Road every year and enjoy that as much, if not more than Glastonbury. I've always fancied Green Man but never been, so that'll be my backup second festival. In fact I'm not even sure I'm going to bother trying this year.

Glastonbury is fucking amazing, but I'm not sure I can be arsed with the hassle of it (I'm getting on a bit), plus it always costs me a fortune in booze and other recreational pleasures. I felt so miserable during the week or so after Glastonbury this year I questioned whether I want to go again (largely due to the aftermath of the aforementioned recreational pleasures). Obviously that passed very quickly, and I have no doubt that I want to go again, but I think a year off wouldn't do any harm.

So, if I either choose against it, or try but fail to get a ticket, I will go to End Of The Road, Green Man, and have an early summer overseas holiday during the Glastonbury week to take my mind off it.
