Lily Allen's Glasto Video

Lily's come out with a Glasto (and Samsung) video for her harmless little ditty 'As Long As I Got You'.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nu905oeqrOg

It really made me smile, just like the song. I love that she's so clearly a genuine Glasto gal, regardless of her celebrity. The video captures the spirit of the festival nicely.

*sigh*

Ten weeks on Sunday, folks.

About as far away from my Glastonbury as you could get. For all of her time spent there, she seems ironically disconnected from it.

I spent more time in The Park this year than anywhere else. I recognised my experiences this year in that video. Apart from the missing "Two Hats Allstars" slot on the Pyramid of course. I thought filming a bit on the path leading up to The Park from the railway track was a good call in bringing back memories the way that BBC footage never does. I liked it.

Plus, I've got a Galaxy S5, but I doubt Samsung will pay me any money for mentioning it.

were you walking up to and trying to surprise strangers because you're, you know, famous, but you're not like other famous people because you're like one of us...

All weekend long ;)

I know what you mean. Of course she does the festival differently to the rest of us, but I can still relate to some of those images, they triggered more memories than the beeb coverage ever does.

I've no idea what this means. Could you explain?

the type of songs she writes... vacuous non-entities. And how she tried to make money, hiring out top label fashion stuff to her rich friends

which failed, as far as I understand

anyway, don't know why I'm complaining about her. I think it was the awfulness of that song

I quite liked it - I got married a similar time to her and have also fairly recently become a parent. Soppy, lightweight stuff, but I'm a soppy lightweight person.

It's better than that awful balloon song at any rate.

Do you think you need to write a meaningful song or hire out clothes to those with middle or low incomes before you can 'connect' with Glastonbury?

Really, I couldn't give a fuck what she does. The idea that she, in any meaningful way has an affinity with what Glastonbury is, makes me chuckle

Fair enough. I still don't understand how you have decided she doesn't have an affinity with what Glastonbury is, though. She has an affinity with it because she's been going for many years, just like many here. But whatever floats your boat.

I love Lily Allen and I love Glastonbury so I am over the moon about this video. I've learnt to ignore the people who consistently pick holes in her for everything that she ever does. I enjoy the video, other people enjoy it, it's harmless and it's positive, that's all that matters.

Last year I actually danced with her in the Rabbit Hole and I hate myself for not speaking to her. It all happened so suddenly, her brother was there amongst a few other of her mildly famous friends such as Mikita Oliver. She's about the only person I would love to properly meet (that's realistic!). They were all having a great time and just enjoying themselves. Surely that's what Glastonbury is about? We all do it differently in our own ways but at the end of the day pretty much everyone is there to enjoy themselves.

Also this talk about how she had a private, secure campsite.. Do you see any other celebrities camping amongst everyone else? Not being a celebrity, I can't speak from experience, but I can't imagine camping in a standard tent amongst the masses where any Tom, Dick and Harry can walk by and walk in to your tent, is really a good idea? They're going to be obvious targets and have a lot of attention drawn to them. I couldn't ever be famous, I like being an anonymous person who can relax anywhere that I feel like it :)

She also gave all of her extra tickets to 'kids' (teens) from where she lives because she gets pissed off with people using her, her 'showbiz' mates didn't get a look in by the sounds of it. They possibly camped with her, her dad etc in the private campsite as well, although I can't remember where I heard that from.

People will always be determined to put down any celebrity that doesn't suit their taste in music, acting etc. Just ignore them and let those that like them, enjoy liking them :)

Some people will just never give anyone an inch.

It's clear to me from that video she loves the place. It's NOT a video of her trying to get people to go 'OMG it's Lily Allen', she walks alongside or approaches about three people the entire time.

It's a lovely video that shows parts of the site you don;t always get to see and which will be full of memories for her as well as reigniting memories in us. Nice one.

Am I the only one who thinks she has been superimposed onto the video after it was shot? I really hope that's not the case but can't help thinking the more I watch it that it wasn't really her walking around and that she was added in afterwards.
