The Queue from East CV field always looks bad when you see it, im always in by midday on Tuesday to try and get a decent spot not too far from top of the hill of death, and normally wait till wed afternoon to go into site and get my wristband etc but last year I opted to get in early, wanted to see inside the site as early as possible so started queuing at 9.45am to get in, by 10.15 found a stall selling alcohol so were toasting G13 at 10.30am with a white wine sprizter at the entrance to west holts....it was minging btw!!!! anyways dont worry about the queues to get in always looks worse than it actually is

Thanks for that. I'm working on Tuesday and won't be able to leave until 9ish.

The plan is to get down to the site and set up the awning on Wednesday morning and go to the site at lunchtime.

It sounds like a pretty decent plan judging by the other comments.

Thanks for your help

Bad! People start to join the queue from the car parks opening. The system last year worked better though, you couldn't actually queue on the Hill of Death. They had roped the left hand lower part of the field off to form a single snaking queue. In previous years it was a battle of the fittest! Leave the heavy stuff with your parents and go back for it once you have your tent up. :)

First time driving a campervan for me... and I can't even get to site until the Thursday, probably early afternoon! Two questions: how are the queues by that point and how far away will I end up from... well... anything!

Should be fine to drive virtually straight in by then. Probably only a short queue for the van checks. You need to be prepared for being in one of the furthest fields from gate c. But even so probably at most a 15 min walk.

Do they fill from the furthest to the nearest or vice versa?

We was in E21 last year

I know this is an old thread - maybe someone can answer this though?

We've always camped and I know the car parks are pretty much luck of the draw as to which fields they fill first. Is there more of a method to the CV field?

Arrival and location vary each year. I arrive on Wednesday afternoon between 3 and 4, and normally get in the areas aroung E17 and E18, over 3 years of CV fields. The queue to get on has been only about half an hour, we set up, eat and then wander in, with no queues as such on Gate C (East side). I thnk they vary the fields, so you're not necessarily guaranteed a close spot on Tuesday, or a far off spot on Thursday.
