He has just finished two UK dates and seems to be free on Friday.

*sigh* and out come the Coldplay bashers again... I know their new album is about the furthest thing from "rip roaring" that they've ever done, but anyone who watched their headline set in 2011 will know they are more than capable of it. Charlie Brown, Viva La Vida, Yellow, Clocks, Politik, Paradise, Life In Technicolor 2, Glass of Water, God Put A Smile Upon Your Face, Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall... these are not dull songs. Seriously, hate them all you want but I genuinely cannot see how their 2011 set could be described as "boring"/"dreary" etc.

I'm not saying I think it's them - but there are far worse acts out there!

They are a very good booking for an early slot. If it is them it's another coup for the festival - and one presumably only possible due to the oft-touted special relationship.
