Me and me pal coming from BtotheHam, well he's collecting me from Tamworth as going straight from work on the Wednesday - hoping to get the hell outta here at 3 - hit the farm few hours or so later. My pals are going down on the Tuesday night, taking our tents for us. So hoping for an easy que-less entry for once. Anyone know what its like going in around 6-7ish on the Wed eve?

My journey begins on Wednesday morning. After checking the weather and deciding which costume to wear, I gather the family and any friends staying with us. We get in the car and wait for someone nice to leave a gap in the queue outside our drive (it doesn't usually take long) and turn right and right again; along a lane and into the Villagers' car park. A short walk to the gate and a peaceful wonder round while everyone else is pitching their tents.

To be honest, I do miss the excitement of packing the car; getting up at sunrise and waving at everyone else along the A303 with car park stickers.

Loved reading all of this!

We're leaving LA the Saturday prior, get into Heathrow on the Sunday, then spending a few days picking up stored bits of camping equipment from family and buying anything else needed (booze..)..and trying to adjust to UK time, then 4am coach from London (the O2) on the Weds. Aiming to be all set up somewhere around Kidney Mead with drink in hand by 10am (think we managed that last year..). Can't wait!

Already got a few nights booked at a hotel in Greenwich to recover the following week..booked a really cheap Ibis Express (or something similar) last year, thinking 'well anything is going to be better than an airbed in a tent, no shower etc.' WRONG! Turns out a wafer thin mattress and a room the size of a tent is pretty equivalent. Lesson learned. Flying back the following weekend.

Superb, can't be beaten surely :)

It is great, on the years I've not been to Glastonbury, used to enjoy seeing the cars on the 303 on their way to the festival - sadly I was on the way to work. Also popping in to Morrison's in Wincy, always great to see peeps stocking up.

Coach on Thursday morning from Leeds. Arrive mid afternoon. Suits me fine - got a good camping spot last time. Wednesday would be overkill for me, never mind travelling through Tuesday night and queuing in the early hours like a lot of people seem to be doing?! Madness ;)

I'm getting the 3am Wednesday coach from London, just to make sure I've got space for our 8 man tent, last year we get there at 10am and it was a struggle finding space for it in Park Home Ground where we usually camp.

All my friends got coach tickets together with their entry tickets so they're coming later in the day, I'll be setting up alone! Fun times. :/

Always used to be a Thursday person until 2010 then decided Wednesday was the day to arrive. This year, it'll be Thursday again...

8am set off from leafy NW3, short drive through west london down to the M4 and then round Bristol to Shepton Mallet and Pilton. Hope to get a convoy so arriving and camping together. Quiet campsite suits me fine this year.

This is all assuming that health issues sort themselves out...

Will be leaving work at 4:00pm Wednesday 25th, watching the England game, purchasing the last of my beverages, packing the bag, then leave the Black Country at around midnight on the Wednesday, arrive at Glasto at around 2-2:30am with our 30-strong group. Get in a good position in the queue like the last few years with the aim to get our perfect camping spot again! Not long now!

Leaving at 4-5am on Tuesday morning from close to Belfast, driving to Rosslare in the far south of Ireland. Ferry from Rosslare to Fishguard in Wales, then it's a 3.5/4 hour drive from there!

Learned our lesson to drive this year, as last year we flew to London and stayed with a friend. We then drank ALL of our drink that night and just about made the bus. The way back was horrible. Reaching London in rush hour, stuck on a bus for 7 hours with no food or water and smelly Glastonbury-goers. We then made our flight home by about 45seconds.

Loving this thread

After a sleepless Monday night (my first Glasto and I'm giddy now, never mind in 7 weeks time!) we'll be heading down the M6 from leafy Cheshire after rush hour traffic on Tuesday morning and should arrive at Campervan West in time for afternoon tea.. hopefully a bit of socialising with our neighbours for the week then the match and a few beers.

Travelling down from Halifax at a leisurely pace on Tuesday arriving at the Riflemans late afternoon......meet up with friends and drive to the festival car park for a BBQ whilst listening to the England game on the wireless. My wife, daughter, and new born (due May 11th) will be travelling down on Friday to stop in Taunton and so after Arcade Fire I'll be making the short journey to go rough-it at the Holiday Inn. On Saturday morning I'm have a nice breakfast and swim before I bring my 7 year old to Pilton for her first experience of the festival.
