So, what's been happening?

For a variety of reasons (some of them not particularly pleasant, some of them just boring) I haven't been on here for what seems like ages but is probably just a few months. So, what've I missed? Someone give me a summary of 2014 on efests Glastonbury Forum, so far. Just so I don't start raking up nonsense that's already been done to death and that.

No to a ticket, yet - can't do coaches as I have to blag a day off teaching just to be able to do the Friday and thus can't do the times so I'll be f5ing unsuccessfully for about 12 minutes on Sunday morning.

Arcade Fire - this year's Radiohead, in so many ways.

Lord of Duckness? What an excellent title that is!

Oh, and The National at the Radio 6 Festival was not only my only real highlight of the year so far but also, possibly, the best thing I've ever been witness to. Shame they're not headlining The Park - they're absolutely ready for it.

Are we sure it is Prince or Metallica, then? Both are great ideas. No-one would die; everyone who hasn't seen the purple one would surely check out a few songs and probably leave after they've realised that, yes he'll play most of the hits but he'll wrap them up as medleys so that you can't enjoy them as much as you want to.

Thank the mythical-cloud-fairy they're not showing the World Cup - my inability to remember that a) England are always crap and b.) Glastonbury just isn't for football (apart from that efests world cup thing I've never been to) nearly ruined the last day of 2010. Thank goodness for Stevie!

it's just embarrassing as a Yankees fan. No A-Rod this year which is great and then 3 weeks in and we get this...just stupid given he was basically caught in the first series between the two teams too. I did manage to make it to the Sunday night game of that first Yanks-Sox series at Yankee Stadium
