Where should I tell me sister to head to collect my son on Saturday PM? She doesn't have a ticket.

Depending upon his age, you will need to go with him. you/he exits at pedestrian gate A and takes the bus back to the pick up drop off point at Bath and West Showground, ferry buses run regularly (around 15-20 minute wait at worse), you can then leave him with your sister and jump on the bus and head back in. If he's old enough to travel on his own you can just see him to the bus, as it's only one stop.

The whole process will take you about an hour from the Exit, if you go with him, however depending upon where you are on site it could take a lot longer to get to the gate.

Fab thanks for that 5co77ie, he's 18 months so maybe a bit too young to let him go by himself! So should I tell my sister to head for Bath and West Showground? Will it be signposted as a coloured route do you know or will the postcode get her there? She is coming from Cardiff. We will probably camp in Cockmill Meadow.

It'll be signposted from all routes as the Pickup and Dropoff point.

have a look at http://www.bathandwest.com/getting/53/ your sister should not have any problems reaching it and as there cant be many people catching the shuttle on the Saturday you should not have any problems either.

There is also a bus that runs regularly from Glastonbury town. Maybe your sister could park up there, jump on the bus and collect junior at the festival bus park before heading back. I am sure it only costs a couple of quid.

I'm not sure the sister would be allowed on a bus to the festival bus station without a ticket?

Last year one of our crowd started having panic attacts on the wednesday and had to leave on the Thursday, we spoke to the carpark stewards and arranged for her to be picked by by her OH at the entrance to the west carparks, we got her there rang him and he drove to the entrance stopped she jumped in and he then drove off.

My sister dropped off 2 of my kids at the entrance to Campervan East fields at 1100 on Sunday morning last year. That gate is about 10 minutes walk from PGC, maybe 15 if you have to carry the toddler up the hill! PGC is only 5 mins from Cockmill Meadow, straight down past the Kidz Field and across the bottom of Acoustic.

It was very easy, she phoned me as she was following signs around the outside, I walked to the gate and met them. It is a country lane with a fairly wide bit at the entrance and no traffic, definitely not on Saturday I would say. Would be less time off site for you than B&W Showground. Make sure you print off the detailed map nearer the time once available.

Good luck whichever option you go for :)

Can I ask whereabouts she drove to get to CV East entrance? I stay in CV East and on the route in they send you all over the place, so i'm not sure what the quickest route when not being 'funnelled' by route signage is! Similarly to the OP, I am also taking my 18 month old son and may well arrange for my mum (who lives about 30 mins away) to come and collect him for part of the festival. If she could collect him from here it would be much easier for us....

Anyone else got any suggestions on this? As mentioned above, I may need to arrange for my mum to come and collect my 18 month old during the festival. Not sure how best to do this as taking him to the drop off point at Bath and West via shuttle bus may be tricky. In previous years I have met someone being dropped off at the old taxi drop off opposite Steanbow farm on the A361, but looks like this is a 'no stop' area this year....

The trek out to the drop off at Bath and West? Yep we did. Took the decision to send the little man off to Grandma's on Friday morning to avoid the bad weather. It wasn't too bad on the way out - got on a bus straight away and didn't have to hang around long to get back in. We did it again on Saturday to get him back in and it was a bit of a pain then - buses weren't as frequent. And after trekking all the way across the site in the mud, it was a bit of a struggle.

How about you?

We went Saturday left part at 1pm and got to the show ground and 3.30pm!

The mud up to the gate & John Peel was awful and we stupidly had the buggy as there wasn't that much mud in other places. It was horrendous! Then when we got to the station there were no buses and noone seemed to know when the next one might be so we had to wait ages in the rain.

Never again for us, we'll be sneaking through gate A!

Oh no! We only had to wait on the way back out to collect him (Saturday afternoon), and even then only about 30 mins due to a dodgy bus. I know it can take ages sometimes though. We also had the buggy (handily stashed in the lock-up by gate A while he was at Grandmas) and it was indeed very tough going up from John Peel.

We actually must have just missed you (and that long wait) as we got to the show ground at around 4.15pm.

I always used to got straight out of Gate A onto the road to meet my sister when she was younger. So much easier....

So tickets again this year! This time we are handing our son over either Sat afternoon or Sunday morning. Any tips on where to drop him off? We will be near the kidz field. If I buy her a car park ticket can she drive into the campervan fields? Thanks.

Not without a festival ticket, no.
