What new bands have you discovered/enjoyed since line-up announcement or TBC?

This is one of the aspects I like about festivals, trying new bands following a lineup announcement. I'm sure many others on here are the same. Not had a chance to test try many bands from the line-up so far - but have made some CDs for car this week, and planning to listen to a fair amount this weekend.

So, what are you getting into that you hadn't heard pre-announcement? If they sound similar to something else please comment, as it could give others with same musical taste's something to try.

I am liking so far:

Interpol - remind me of a Killers/Editors, maybe even Franz sound.

War on Drugs - hard to pinpoint what these are like, I get an 80s feel crossed with Razorlight lol

Kodaline - maybe like a folky Coldplay (don't really like Coldplay, but don't mind these)

I've discovered (mainly through recommendation on this site)...

Public Service Broadcasting - kind of funky public service broadcasts really.

War on Drugs - Springsteeny, but not as "Rocky"

Phosphorescent - touch of Bon Iver in there maybe?

Metronomy - Hot Chippy?

I acknowledge my descriptions and comparisons are utterly useless.

Parquet Courts. I'd heard of them but never listened until the line up came out.

This is also one of my favourite things to do when I'm off to a festival, but apart from the stuff I already knew I'm so far not finding much that I like. There's still plenty of time though.

And I'm listening to more Metallica than I have done for about 20 years.

So far i'm enjoying (partly from recommendations on here)...

John grant (reminds me of rufus wainwright but that's probably just the vocals)

War on drugs (agree very springsteenesque)

Echo and the empress (folky pop with nice harmonies)

Royal blood (if you're planning on watching jack white and/or black keys you may be interested)

Young fathers (vocally hip hop but musically some of it reminds me of alt-j)

Always find descriptions are extremely subjective but that's what they remind me of. Lots of depth to the line-up for me...

Jurassic 5 (not normally a fan of hip hop but I've been enjoying these) and Danny & The Champions of the World (nice bit of Americana, touch of Wilco about them).

And, like Gazsimmo, I've been playing lots more Metallica than I have in years.
