Keep Alcohol Cold?

No matter how hot it gets (and this year will be sunny and hot, I'm sure) the water pumped out to the taps is always bloody cold. Fill up a collapsible bucket with nice cold water, dunk your tent-warmed cans in for ten minutes, and they'll be a (little) bit more palatable

The man has a good point. DO NOT dig holes, they specifically ask you not to in the Fine Guide because of the problems it causes.

Basically give up on having it properly cold. Some folk lug whole ice-boxes and the like in though but it's far far easier to just take stuff that tastes nice warm. Considering most of your drinking will be done away from your tent even if they're cold to start with that will change so.... don't waste too much time/money on it.

I've learnt my lesson and have accepted that larger is just not an option for BYOB at Glastonbury.

What I plan to bring this year:

Either Guiness or CANS of Newcastle Brown (taste perfectly acceptable when warm)

A couple bottles of Red Wine decanted into plastic bottles

A couple spirits decanted into plastic bottles

If I want a cold drink I'll hit the bar.

Box'o'wine - must be red.

Has kept me pleasantly inebriated for years, take two, usually bring back some due to alternating with cider to rehydrate *hic*

Can be mixed with juice/lemonade/coke/cider to make a variety of breakfastoptions.

Two tips - don't forget that it's often easier to carry the bag rather than the whole box, just open it up and never ever ever take white wine. instead bask in the glow of your wisdom as you watch groups of girls trying to stomach very warm white mid-afternoon in the sun, an even sadder sight on monday
