Absurd request

O.k. I know it's a lot to ask for, but thought I would ask people's opinion. My wife and I are heading to our 6th Glastonbury this year, but it's going to be a very different one. Our first baby is due in two weeks and all being well said nipper will be making its first festival outing. We're not too worried as we've got a campervan and are prepared. Staying away from the main stages won't be a problem as there is enough on everywhere else. Only issue being, we are both massive arcade fire fans. It would be a killer not to be at the pyramid stage come Friday night. So I'm pondering, does anyone who to get/request front access to a stage for a performance? It would only be the one the whole weekend. It's the only way I could see the thing possible. Suggestions please.

Why on earth do you need to stay away from the main stages?!

Get the little 'un some funky ear defenders and you're sorted! For the Pyramid, position yourselves at somewhere less packed - the benches by the fence up the right-hand side, say, or up the hill near the tree. There'll be lots of families with sproglets up there having a great time.

Yep totally agree, watched the stones from right at the back of the pyramid with our baby last year. She happily slept in ear defenders in her buggy. Obviously you need to stay away from places/times where there is gridlock by arriving early/leaving late e.g for headliners, but no need to avoid main stages at all. Had no issues at the pyramid for the stones or west Holts for headliners last year and during the day we just did as we had in previous years, except for spending time in the kidzfield for facilities x

There is absolutely no way in a million years they would allow you to take a baby front stage. The Health & Safety and insurance implications would be massive. Head to the back with ear defenders and play it by ear, if baby's cool, stick around, if baby clearly isnt happy, head home and watch it when you get home on iplayer!

They fit our one year old perfectly and she slept soundly in them last year but I can also get them over my head and the block the sound nicely so might also be good for a 7 and 9 year old.

I second this - was fine with our little one (8 months old) last year at the back for the Stones. Just got their early and left after the crush. And a 2-3 months old they are much easier to look after and sleep pretty much anywhere. Enjoy it.

I've taken loads of littluns over many years. Nowadays you'll only actually need to bother with earplugs/headphones if your bablits are front of main stages, dance areas or the Glade. Sad to say my works radio is louder than most venue areas of modern day Glasto!

With the Rolling Stone last year and my baby son we stood at the back ny the trees and I put him on a baby carrier on my front (it's an ergo baby carrier) with ear defenders on him and fairy lights attached to the baby carrier so people could see I had a baby. We waited out the mad crowds heading back to the campsites as we didn't want to miss the end of the set. We were fine.
