anywhere to buy bacon?

A bit earlier to be thinking with our stomachs, but this year we need to do the festival on a budget. As usually we head for the food stalls I haven't bought raw food there before and don't even know if it's possible.

Is there anywhere to buy bacon/eggs/etc onsite?

Are you limited on carrying food? I think there's a 'supermarket' but don't know if it stocks that stuff. How about taking non perishables to leave in your tent/car, like dried flavoured noodles, cans of beans and sausages, and offset it with fruit onsite? If you can blag a good cooler, that would help.

We live in Dublin now so it's going to be a bit of a struggle bringing much over (also one of the reasons for trying to save money by cooking!). Hoping our mates in Swindon will decide to drive and we can load them up.

The new farmers market might be good for fruit and bread, and Yeo Valley is always good value. But I'm gonna need bacon at some point!

Just ask a police officer to direct you to the bacon shop when you get there.

Up near top of Big Ground there was a mini market type stall it sold all you need to make a cooked breakfast

Yes. There are a small number of "supermarkets" on site that sell a very limited range. Does include bacon, eggs, bread and milk. There is a bus service that goes past the entrance to Glastonbury. I have heard of people using it to get supplies from supermarkets in the town.

THere is also a bakery heading towards accoustic. Linked to proper bakery in Glastonbury and get stocked several times a day. They sell real, fresh loaves, buns, pasties and all sorts. Well worth trudging the whole length of the site for supplies!

Worth bearing in mind that the supermarket stalls aren't all the same. They stock different things and prices can vary from place to place. I know this from searching for coffee one year.

Buy a pack from your local Supermarket, with a few bread rolls, Freeze said items and place in plastic bag in your rucksack. Should do you for a couple of days. Keep in a cool place in the tent and hey presto bacon baps and a bit extra cash in ones wallet for the finer things in life such as Brothers Cider.
