Hey there, i am toying with the idea of camping at worth view, but was just wondering if anyone knows if it is mainly family orientated site or if its just a quieter camp site? also i have heard rumours that you cannot smoke at worthy view. can anyone confirm?

Stayed there last year, yeah that's complete bollocks about the smoking. It is quiet up there as its so far away so you just go back there to sleep, its not a place you can pop back to.There are a few familys around but its mainly groups of friends just like inside.

OK, I've read all the comments above and posted on the other forums on WV which have been very helpful. One last point I haven't seen answered anywhere- is the camp site at WV itself flat or on a gradient? I know it's at the top of the hill but does it flatten out there? I like my usual Glasto spot as it's flat and you can pitch your tent in any direction without fear of rolling into the side of your tent in the middle of the night! If you've got a pre-ereted tent you'll have no choice as to what direction it's facing so can I be happy that I won't have a sloping bed? Sorry, sounds like a minor issue but it's quite important to me!

We've booked a 4 man scout tent at WV for the first time this year. Can anyone give a heads up on the following:

1) Space - how tight is it going to be, for 4 averagely sized middle-aged women? E.g. is there room for 4 single inflatable mattresses (2 side by side in each bedroom). Dimensions look ok, but you never know....!

2) The porch area doesn't have a ground sheet in the photo - should we take one?

3) What's the policy on putting chairs/stools outside?

4) How far away is the WV car park, in terms of minutes walk? Is it easy to pop back to the car if you need to (unlike the main site!!)? Thinking of keeping stuff in the tent 'lite' esp if space is tight.

Any tips gratefully received. Thanks :) xx

If anyone looking at this is wanting to swap a 4 man scout tent on worthy view for a 2 man tent of any kind please get in contact. I have contacted see tickets and this can be done through them, we would obviously expect the difference in price to be paid to us. Requesting this as our 2 friends can no longer attend so no longer require a big tent.

We stayed there last year = two of us in a 6 berth. The four man scout tents look pretty cosy, but you can spread out outside - we took a windbreak and made a proper little garden for ourselves. Car park was in the next field, but it could still be a bit of a trek if you're at the bottom of the tent field - though not as far as camping inside Glasto. Take a groundsheet, I would - take everything you can fit in your car! This year we have booked to stay in 'The Pop up Motel' with our own tent, but still with showers, toilets etc. We just cannot face that hill up to Worthy View again - it nearly killed me last year! Anyway, good luck, have a great Glasto

Im going to Glasto on my own this year, but know some people who are staying at WV. It now sold out but Im hoping to find someone who wants to sell my their space.

As long as I have a copy of the bookibg ref it should be fine to do.

So anyone got a spare tent?

Luci xx

Thanks for that julesangel :) really helpful x Sounds as if car park is close by, years of the SAS Are You Tough Enough style yomps across the main site will make WV feel like luxury. And the hill will be good training for my Everest Base Camp trek in October!
