I don't think they've been on the Radio 1 playlist at any point in the last year. Zane might have session stuff and that with them but they don't get regular plays during the day (which is when I listen to Radio 1). It is those acts that will play the big slots at Big Weekend.

what we need to remember is that this is an outdoor gig, not a festival.

they could have arctics, biffy, calvin harris (i know thats not what it'll be) and i wouldn't be too surprised.

was mentioned above i'm sure. theres always some surprises at these because its an opportunity to promote.

despite the ideas about beyonce being finished by then and JT being in dubai etc it by no means means its not gonna happen

although i dont think the friday will be anyone as big as avicci (unless its calvin harris (home country idea))

imagine how bad the streets around george square would be if he was playing.

R1 have been overplaying the hell out of Ellie Goulding in the last 12 months, I'd say she's more likely for a headline slot than Bugg

Jack White's just announced a new album release in June. He's played before but a couple of years ago. He's free around that time too, so could be a good shout. Not necessarily main stage headliner but could be possible somewhere across the weekend.

Last year they had Calvin Harris, Dizzee Rascal (with guest Robbie Williams), Rudimental and Chase and Status on the Friday. Nick Grimshaw was saying something about this the other morning, as much as it's just seen as an add on extra dance evening, they still get some pretty huge names to do it.
