With prince out of the equation, who's left?

I see a lot of people talking about the 3rd possible headliner in different threads, thought it would be a good idea to have it in one thread.

My best guess right at this moment is Metallica.

I believe that Glasto started speaking with them about headlining the Saturday night on the Pyramid, but that Metallica's deal with Soni put a stop on that.

I think (but don't know) that the pencilling-in of Prince as a hoped-for headliner then had him move from Sunday to Saturday as a result of that.

As Metallica are likely to be the biggest booked act on the bill currently not headlining the Pyramid, then to me it makes sense* that Glasto would at least revisit the idea and see if it might be do-able somehow.

(* unless they do already have a suitable act standing by).

My view on this might change before the end of the day, as there's a Soni announcement due today.

Would metallica 'fit' though? I understand metallica being on the other stage as they are a fantastic alternative to a more modern mainstream headliner, but I'm not sure if they would fit.

they fitted enough for Glastonbury to want them as Pyramid headliner at the start of their mutual discussions.

Chic aren't exclusive, the show is. Outkast were ruled out because Bestival and Wireless are their only two shows.

No, as far as I'm aware, exclusive has never been applied to Outkast. Their management, and possibly Bestival and Wireless have billed it as their only two uk shows, hence why they're ruled out.
