The Killers - my take on why

Right I know we've got an announcement thread or two but this is specific to the killers headline set.

Their return quite frankly baffled me at first but I think I've realised why.

Hot Fuss was released 10 years ago in June. I reckon it's hot fuss in full, they just can't say yet as there'll be some kind of campaign around a reissue/maybe a little tour of their own.

Even if not, you'd expect them to bring out some older rarer tracks like on top, change your mind, bones etc rather than play essentially the same set again.....right?? :/

Its possible, do Killers get to choose if they want to do that or would V have signed them on the condition thats what they do?

It is very bizarre. They announced back in September they were taking a break and Brandon was working on his follow up to Flamingo for 2014.

The band were tiring at the end of the Battle born your, Mark (bass) skipped the Asia leg of the tour and Dave (guitar) voiced the fact he was sick of touring.

Direct hits being released closed that chapter and looked like they'd be away for a couple of years at least to recharge etc. not sure what's going on, very strange.

V was the last place id have placed them too, given how frequently they've headlined recently. I thought they might be a shoe in for glasto given their activity in the US around that time.

Still plenty of tickets available. 99 per person. The touts will love this but hopefully as demand appears to be low, I may still go and pick up a ticket for next to nothing lol.

Hello people, my first time on a forum. Anyway I do not think the killers are a great band and good live but I think it is a safe opition to take and I would like to take a bit more of a risk like other festivals such as latitude, BST and a certain extent glaso and reading. I would of given a headline to a band/ artist that has not headline a massive festival before.
