I wonder if Neil has heard any info regarding the 3 and that's why all 3 are now rumors on this site, or if that tweet is that led to the rumors

gigwise posted a news article speculating this to be the case. Nothing has been confirmed at all and the leaked information doesn't really give anything I'd consider 'solid evidence' other than 'Outkast have 40 festival dates, glastonbury surely is one of them', 'Someone told me he hear Metallica are headlining' and 'Prince gigs more than ever'....... soooo take what you will.

This article has been copied and pasted from Gigwise word for word... it's still as vague as ever so I'm not going to look into it too much but Prince has confirmed hes going to play the UK this year.

Why would a tweet from @superjam mean anything? Other than someone reading frmo this forum or gigwise stating what they have read. Hardly official is it. Maybe from Emilys twitter account or the main G website or efests web site, then i'll believe it.

I can't believe anybody is naive enough to actually believe Metallica would do anything other than headline the main stage. (That's without even mentioning the obvious exclusive clause that Sonisphere has anyway)

is there any chance that, if Metallica are performing, it could be as a secret slot / something other than an announced Other headline spot?

i know the festival's trying to stop these secret sets as they cause too much ruckus (and Metallica is hardly going to stop that) but it's just a thought

i know i'm clutching at straws, it would just be brilliant (and i want the Prince/Outkast rumour to be true so so much so am fishing for anything that could make the Metallica rumour also true)

I am naive enough to think that Metallica could headline the other stage. As people have already said on here it would be a big gamble on both the festival and the bands for it to work. I for one would love to see them this year at Glastonbury and lead the way for other heavier acts

Words can't describe how excited i would actually be if Metallica played anywhere, i never really tried to get anywhere near the front for anyone last year. But i would be as close as i could for this.

Guys what you have to remember RE Metallica is that the Glastonbury crowd aren't as 'in' to them as your standard rock festival. I bet plenty of people who go to Glastonbury have never knowingly heard a single song of theirs.
